My sources are telling me he is coming back to the team as an assistant Team President.

He will work over Gettleman and under Morrison, with input on both roles.

JR magic.

No reason to worry.

Hurney never really should have been given a GM position. As far as true experience as a talent evaluator, he had little to none.

That's not someone you put in charge of shaping your roster.

Surely the purpose of this is to announce that he found an executive job on a well-reputed team

I knew that genius wouldn't last long on the fringes of the NFL universe before being scooped up

Still feel somewhat sorry for the guy. He would have never been a great GM, but with a better owner he could have been serviceable to good.

The draft trades were all Marty, but the 2010 season and the stupid loyalty contracts (Delhomme, Williams, Stewart, Beason) were Jerry East.

Marty's a good soldier though. He'll just go on air and wish everyone well.

Yeah JR is a cheap skate and doesnt care a lick about winning. He doesnt care about about this community either, he obviously wants to burn it to the ground.

So glad 2010 told us everything we need to know right?

God he's an awful owner, its not like we'll ever get the Superbowl.

This sounds fishy.  Too soon bruh.

Maybe they are just gonna spill da beans on JR or something.

It really is too soon...

He was probably asked to appear, and will chit-chat on what he's been doing since he was let go, how great Gettleman's been, how great all the draft picks look, how great Rivera's gonna do, and how excited he is for the Panthers this year.

Then he will discuss the upcoming position Kurb mentioned.  Then maybe questions.

The second anyone makes a valid critique about Richardson you can count on someone coming on and have a dramatic teenaged "I GUESS HE'S JUST THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD" meltdown.

Him getting a front office role would make sense though. Gotta reward loyalty.

Hiring Hurney was indeed Richardson's mistake. No one else can rightly be blamed for that.

That said, using Richardson to excuse all of Hurney's mistakes isn't a valid argument.
