Bill Polian on Shula

34 posts in this topic

"Quit questioning Shula! I live in Charlotte and he's coached Cam up from a guy who had no idea how to line up and call an NFL play because of college offenses he played in and made him an NFL caliber signal caller.

Dungy told Polian letting Shula go was one if the biggest mistakes he ever made.

I know Shula and there is no reason to question him.

It defies logic for me for these questions to somehow pop up."

On NFL radio inresponse to a caller from Charlotte asking if he Shula is the right guy for Cam and the offense

He has not had much if any success as a play caller in the past. It's perfectly normal for him to be a question mark. I give him the benefit of the doubt in terms of his progress in regards to it though.

I'm giving Schula a pass for his time as a coordinator in Tampa. It's the Bucs, when have they ever had an offense.

Guys Cam is not our entire offense and a QB coach is not an offensive cordinator. What is with you guys...

Why don't you wait and see how he does before flaming one way or the other? Stop questioning him? lol...his QB coaching with Cam has little to do with his ability to be a successful offensive cordinator.

    • This is a hypothetical scenario that maybe should be taken into consideration going into the draft in April.  What part of the team would suffer the most if they lost a key player on the respective side? - If we lose Greg Olsen to injury how much of a drop off is their on offense -If we lose a Safety, DE, or LB how much of a drop off is their on defense -Personally I think the offense would loose basically 1/5 of the production and with no real depth to make an impact.
    • I used to hold out hope, but I think that it's become obvious that the organization really doesn't him like that. He worked very hard to put on a little muscle and refine his game before the past season, but still didn't get any real play, despite those in front of him playing lackluster ball. Throw in the fact that we've added another couple of suspect receivers and are searching for upgrades via the draft, I just don't believe that they believe Byrd is that guy.
