Anyone see this show yet? I couldn't find anything on it here so I just decided to start a new one. Started off kind of iffy for me but i'm really into it now. Liev Schreiber is the Goddam man.

Yea I've been watching it since it premiered.  The show was kind of all over the place the first several episodes but not it's focused in a bit and I agree, it's pretty awesome now.  Excited to see how the season ends, and if/how they tie up the Sully angle....

Most of the characters are interesting.  I actually think this show could do well on a  "week to week" basis with new "cases" if they run out of storyline material.

Confession, I laugh a bit too much at Voight's character lol.

Same, the scene where he's in the library watching the twerking video was hilarious....

Great show, what a veteran cast too.

Well it's good to hear that it finally took shape. I gave up after episode 4 or 5 because I didn't like its flow (it felt all over the place). I did enjoy the bat or the bag, that was wild

Been watching since episode 1 and have always felt I could stop watching tomorrow and not miss anything, but...

* They haven't done a very good job putting together the Ezra Goodman (Elliot Gould- note the "EG" initials) and Ray Donovan connection.

* The Boston accents of Jon Voight, James Woods and the rest are absolutely atrocious and embarrassing.

* If the main character is so good at cleaning things up and making things and people disappear, why does it all look like amateur hour when it comes to whacking his dad?

* If Patrick "Sully" Sullivan had little issue putting a bullet in the back of Rosanna Arquette's head, what was the huge boner move that let Mickey Donovan worm his way out of his killing?

* At some point, Ray's wife just needs to stfu and understand this is business and as long as she's taken care of, it's of little consequence, kinda like Carmella Soprano.

The last episode was good but the whole revelation about ray and the priest was just weird and unnecessary. It added 0 to his character in my opinion. Looking forward to the finale though.

I thought last episode might have been one of the best, if not THE.  I thought the reveal felt genuine between Ray AND his wife.  It felt like a moment where his wife probably always had suspicions but would never ask him.  Probably why when she got to the gym and seen what was going on she was all "See you at home later" about it.  I'm glad she manned up there, I've been hard on her all season.  Ray should, at this point, just explain what he does and get it out in the open.

This show is going to be like Sopranos, lots of family drama, etc, but if it's done well, it'll last.  I've been happy with this show for the first year.

bump for season 2

I've just now watched e3. So far I like the characters. But the show has a very slow pace, each episode fells like 2 hour movie.

Not going to read any posts, but I just started this tonight. I liked the first episode. A lot to take in, but hopefully it'll be as good as I think it'll be.

Very underrated show. The dynamics of the family and the business has some resemblance to The Sopranos.

The major character difference between Carmela Soprano and Abby Donovan is Carmela knew to stay out of the biz while Abby is always asking and trying to pry into Ray's business in an effort to learn more about the man she thought she married and who's children she bore.

If there is a weak character within the script, it's Elliott Gould's Ezra Goodman character. We know there is some lengthy history with Ray complete with a closet full of skeletons, but nothing has been elaborated thru the first season to explain any of this.

Jon Voight as Mickey Donovan is a real piece of work too. How anyone believes or goes along with this guy is beyond me, the show doesn't give any of his foils the benefit of the doubt as just a bunch of morons who follow this guy.

The addition of Hank Azaria as the new FBI boss should add some substance to the season.
