Dee Milliner benched during TNF (Panthers related)

Best Answer OneBadCat, 13 September 2013 - 10:30 AM

Star was absolutely the best pick we could have made. Star helps us stop the run, collapse the pocket, and make our DB's look better. He simply has a bigger impact than any kind of CB could. Especially right out of the gate as a rookie.

To be honest, the worst first rounder we have picked in the past 11 years was Chris Gamble, and Gamble had a great career here.

Julius Peppers
Jordan Gross
Chris Gamble
Thomas Davis
Deangelo WIlliams
Jon Beason
Jonathan Stewart
Cam Newton
Luke Kuechly
Star Lotulelei

Please find me a better list.

Early...Gamble may end up a better one than Stewart

I'm confused, are you knocking Richardson or praising him? Also how would it of been possible to end up with Star and Sheldon??

Kinda both.

Richardson can't hold the point of attack well, shed bigger blockers, and split double teams. Sheldon getting washed out of plays is worrying to be honest. It's why I prefer Star 10x out of 10. Richardson can't impact a D-Line like Lotulelei can.

Have to count Everette Brown and Jeff Otah in this as we trade a first round pick to pick them up in the first round.  So Brown would be worst followed by Otah.

I think he's playing like one of the best right now. But maybe that's because his supporting cast is pretty damn good too.

Plays week 1= GOAT lol

He rag-dolled max unger and iirc fua had the same guys around him and played like garbage

You forgot big boy Otah...he would be the worst :(

Edit: someone beat me to it...but I thought we used a 2nd on Everette (but gave up the following year's first) while Otah was actually picked in the 1st.

I'm not sure if I missed Otah or my mind just wanted to avoid his name..

Gilmore was in this draft class?

Gilmore was from Kuechly's class, not Star's. Sorry, I got confused and appreciate the error-checking. See how awful I am at anything draft related?

Otah was actually a great player, just couldn't stay healthy..

We picked Brown in the 2nd but gave up 2010 first round pick to the 49ers.  Who used it in the first round of 2010 to pick Mike Lupati.  Fugging Hurney logic.

I think I was more pissed the we took Stewart that year at 14 and traded back in to get Otah.  When we should have drafted a Tackle at 14 and gotten Ray rice in the 2nd.

Otah was a beast when he was on the field, what Star is doing on defense as a DT to vets is what Otah was doing as a OL to vets. The health issues really ruined it for him.

If you really examine it the jets have been serious about rebuilding that front seven, they have took 3 defensive linemen in the first round the past 3 drafts and it looks like its paying off. If it didnt, they would be in a even bigger hole than they already are.

Yeah god can you imagine if we still had a good Otah before the injuries and before he stopped caring. He would probably be the best tackle in the league and our oline would be so much better

Sheldon Richardson is a good player, but he's not Star.

I also like how humble Star is. My favorite thing about the big guy.

So are The Lions. Fairley, Ansah and Suh could be a great D-Line in the near future. The Jets D-Line though is a very, very good one. Richardson, Wilkerson and Coples could be a threatening one if they ever put it together

Our front seven blows them away however thanks to Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis and Jon Beason.
