Someone better tell Griffin and Kaepernick that their jobs are in jeopardy too if they don't "rebound". Oh, but nobody here wants to talk about that. Everybody knows that no other quarterback in the NFL has ever had a bad game.

I dont even think Cam played THAT bad, we just missed a few important opportunities.  Still killing me the defense gave us the ball twice in their red zone and we only muster up 6 points.  That's on Ron, Mike, Cam, everybody.

I dont give two shits about RG3 or CK to talk about them, nor does anyone else really.

especially kaepernick.  gee whiz, what a bad game that guy had!  and against a division opponent too.

now, i might get flamed for this by the kaepernick huggers, but i think it might be time to sit him in favor of mccoy to see what he has.  based on his tattoos and the dolphins hat thing i don't know if he has the intelligence to make the reads necessary to be a quality starter in this league.

Lol would love to see them bring in someone new. They're not getting anyone more dangerous then Cam. Are we really discussing this? QB is not the problem. Today's NFL is just so unreal when it comes to QB week to week. I mean I heard Tony Dungy say last night "one more work and Washington should consider benching RG3 for Cousins" aren't you ***** kidding me Dungy?

Weeks ago we were all "Cam is gonna leave here for Dallas or some other big market". Now we aren't sure if gettleman or some new coach will want him? If we were 2-0 and the defense hadnt blown a lead and Deangelo hadn't fumbled we would be talking about "how many years for cams extension" right now.

Any new coach that comes in here and doesn't want Newton is an instant failure, I can tell you that

Welcome to the instant gratification world called the NFL. Where fans and the media act like these players should be as disposible as their Fantasy Picks every season.

What I find so interesting about this topic is, since I've been here the desire to make more out of the rest of this team seems to fall on deaf ears. It's like no one wants to face the reality that the Panthers have become quite a dysfunctional bunch of men long before Fox left. They seem to want to treat what they see every Sunday as the fault of Cam because he didn't do something right in their eyes., And, if he did everything right, the team would win. Or simply ignoring the obiouvs issues of this team and focus on Cam will help the other stuff to go away. It's a case of serious denial.

There is a saying, if you want to see the mentality of a team, read their fansite. I simply can't with some of the dysfuntional folks on here. It would be downrigth sad, if it wasn't so funny.

Not letting our offense get one yard to seal the victory is one of the dumbest coaching decisions I've ever seen.

Cam played like Peyton last night. Did you see how many balls Peyton over/under threw? How long has be been playing this game? Maybe it's time to retire his ass. Je's getting old. SMH But it's amazing how his team still managed to win for him. Shocking how that works.

As for Colin and RG III, they are well talked about. Way more than Cam....unless it's the media loving to repeat some of the ish they read on sites like this about the endless concerns over every mistake Cam makes.

Some of you act as if this team either doesn't have a problem or is so deep in it's own mess that you're looking for one person to rescue it. Sadly that will not happen. Football is a team sport. You're only as strong as your weakest link.

Rebound from what?

Not improving and not winning.

Winning? It is a team sport.

As for improving. How is he supposed to develop when we're stuck in yet another lame duck year with a head coach whom Cam has already wasted going on three seasons with? Bring in a coach worth a damn, then we can talk.

I wouldn't go that far. Cam should have his fair share of the blame.

He has struggled and seems very uncomfortable in this offense but we have had the lead twice at the end of the game only to have the defense give up a td if the defense holds then we are 2-0 so in my mind he has played well enough its not like he has a bunch of turnovers he just missed some throws

Uh oh, we've got a butt hurt accusation. Things just got real.

do you ever actually just talk football or just get into internet slapfights and pissing matches? Good grief man.. give it a rest and quit getting so hormonal.

I don't even know how to block people on this site but you're making a fine case for me to research how. Just talk football and quit being such a skirt.

Let me get this straight, because this is funny.

You sought me out, and proceeded from nowhere to attack me and tell me I'm "hormonal" and a "skirt". Yet you're going to "block" me, someone on the internet that you've never met, because I offend your delicate sensibilities?

Hey, you may want to consider taking your own advice there about not acting like such a woman.

It amazes me to see Harbaugh turn Kaepernick into 'The Greatest QB in the making..." (via Jaws and ESPN) yet Rivera and Shula don't know how to find exploit his gifts.

John is just that good. He made Alex smith a winner. From what I saw Shula has developed Can 0% as of now.

This is amazing to follow as an outsider.  I think you can't put an extension on the table until December at the earliest. Of course, I have a sour taste in my mouth from Ryan Fitzpatrick...

I think Newton needs to show the baby before bringing home the new shoes.  Of course, the Carolina FO has done next to nothing to line up a plan-B if Newton is not going to be the QB in 2014.

I want to see Cam behind center for the Panthers for the next 10+ years.

That said, I wouldn´t do an extension at the end of this year. The reason? Any offer we make to Cam now based off the current situation will be way below what the top QB´s make. If he plays the way he is capable, especially under a good offensive mind in any post-Rivera scenario, he is going to be unhappy with a below market contract and his agent will push for re-negotiation. Nobody wants a disgruntled QB, so chances are the team would re-do his deal once the results dictated it.

So it´s not like we are going to get him on a bargain basement new 6 year deal and save lots of money. It is better to just let things play out. Put a better team and better coaching around him and let´s see what happens, then pay him accordingly.

Cam will get a good high dollar contract either way....His agent will say hey you didn't provide him with an OL help and what he's had one true WR his whole time here.....He'll a good contract with us, not a blow out like some of the elite QBs but it will be good....or he'll goto the Raiders and get top dollar and be surrounded by worse talent..
