Bold means likely kept.-- As in a player that should likely have reasonable contract demands and/or has performed well enough for the Panthers to want to keep them.

Italics up for debate.-- A player that could be kept for a majority of reasons OR no kept for a majority of reasons.

StrikeThrough means likely cut/released/not-resigned/already gone.

This is why we will be keeping most of that cap space we have. 22 FA's next year that are currently on the 53 man roster.....That's 41% of the roster.

On top of this, one man could potentially eat up half that cap space we have, Mr. Kraken.

We better not pay him that much.

Does anybody know how much cutting Godfrey, DWill, and/or Stewart would clear in cap space?

Does anybody know how much cutting Godfrey, DWill, and/or Stewart would clear in cap space?

Yup. Cutting Stewart would accelerate 19 mil in dead money. His cap hit is only 6 mil.
Cutting Williams would accelerate 9.6 mil in dead money. His cap hit is also 6 mil. Godfrey would have 2 mil in dead money, his cap hit is 7.1 mil which saves us 5.1 mil.

To sum it up, Stewart will absolutely, positively not be cut. No way around it.
Williams is very, very unlikely. Even as a June 1st cut we'd only be saving 1.3 mil AND we carry over 4.7 mil in dead money towards 2015. Saving just over a million for Williams isn't worth it an likely won't be done.
Godfrey is most likely a cap casualty. No chance in hell he gets that 7.1 mil. He will either take a significant pay cut, or he will simply be replaced by the addition of our newer safeties who have performed quite well. I would say he's gone.

Stewart will stay for 1 more year. Anderson, Lafell, Scott, Wharton, Bell, Fua, Williams (LB), Florence, Dockery, Thomas, Mikell will all likely go.

We should definitely try to keep Mikell and Mitchell considering how shoddy safeties are in the NFL these days.

Keep Captain too, dude is a workhorse.

I think we will keep Williams over Wharton, he's just as good now but with loads more upside. Plus he's cheaper. Munnerlyn may well also stay but I think Mikell will go as we are now fairly loaded at S. Lafell will probably be traded for picks and Hardy should be resigned. Clausen will likely also get cut.

If Mikell is willing to stay for the right price id like to see him resigned for atleast one more year to help out Lester.

I really like our safeties this year. Mitchell on one side and Mikell and Lester rotating in and out on the other.

I don't feel safe with Byers roaming the sidelines while Cam warms up anymore. For that reason alone he needs to be cut.

Can't see Byron Bell getting cut. At worst we have him peanuts and he is a backup tackle. I hope that Lafell gets a better deal somewhere and he is gone...I like him, but he literally disappears sometimes, you can't have that today in the flag football league that is the NFL.
