...but there are plenty of times when the leadership does suck, take my namesake General McClellan during the civil war, he had Lee beaten at Antietam but didn't go for it on 4th and 1.

"Alright men see that machine gun nest over there. I want you all to take these sticks and rocks and charge it head on. One of you are bound to make it through and take out the gunner."

"But sir shouldn't we attempt to flank it or call in an air strike."

"Nonsense private, I like our odds and last time I checked I give the orders around here."

The squad follows their orders and proceeds to get slaughtered by machine gun fire.

If your leader is terrible and doesn't know basic tactics the best soldiers out there are going to be worthless because they are trained to take orders from their superiors.

This is the best response to this post!  Your general can have the "know" and not the "feel."  This is Rivera.  He knows what should be done in all situations but he has no idea what our team is good at and not good at.  If all you have is sticks and stones you don't charge a machine gun... you flank!   This week Carolina has to get creative!

I understand your subtle insinuation that the majority of the fans favorite, Cam, really isn't that good. Really? You believe that.

Our game plan is to wait for a 4th quarter implosion vs the Giants, and we are supposed to be ok with the coaching staff?

lmao

John Fox took a 1-15 team to 7-9 in one year, then the Super Bowl the year after without a huge amount of player turnover. Sometimes it is the leadership.

Jake Delhomme, Julius Peppers, Ricky Manning, Stephen Davis, Ricky Proehl, etc would've made the '01 team a remarkably better team. Quit exaggerating.

There are 53 people on the roster. Everyone complains about how bad the OL, receivers, and defensive backs are but then says the coaching loses every game. That's like half the team being shiit.

He had some pretty good players coming of age at that time.

I think our leadership is bad from Rivera to Richardson.  I want to love Richardson, but he is screwing up a lot.

Players here love him, but the vibe he sends out is often not good.

Still, there is leadership on the field as well.  If the generals suck, the captains can step up.

While the US has some good leaders and some bad ones, we usually win because we have better weapons.  True story.
