What to make if Ginn?

I love you guys. Go ahead and wait for him to prove to you he belongs. Cuz to most of us, he has already proven that he does belong on the field.

Ginn Jr. caught every pass thrown his way today. Including a deep out on the sideline. Where he caught it with his hands, and got both feet down. It was a catch people have been saying he couldn't make. Yet he made it look almost easy. He has done everything a real WR needs to do.

He has had a great year to date. And I believe it is going to get even better as he and Cam get their chemistry going. Add in the fact that he only has 1 drop, and I see a legit WR. The more he plays, the more it opens up the field for the other guys.

He is a weapon. He is proving he belongs. Great pickup.

Some of you guys slay me.

He is a 1 trick pony...but it's a trick we sorely need.

Smith is not what he once was and we HAVE to have that deep threat.

Now that he's a viable offensive threat, it's time to take him off of kick return.

He's the 2nd best WR on our team and should be lining up opposite of Smith.

Ginn can be big for us. I haven't seen any of the drops other teams bitched about. He must have used a witch doctor and transferred them to Olsen.

I suppose if you want to call Ricky Proehl a witch doctor.

In three seasons in Miami, Ginn had Cleo Lemen, Chad Pennington and Chad Henne as his quarterbacks. Lemen and Pennington are no longer in the league and Henne has nearly cemented himself as nothing more than a backup quarterback — he's never thrown more touchdowns than interceptions in four seasons.

The one season in Miami that he had a capable quarterback — Pennington threw for 3,653 yards, 19 touchdowns, seven interceptions and completed 67.4 percent of his passes that year — Ginn had his best NFL season. He set career-highs in receiving yards (790), receptions (56) and tied his mark in touchdown receptions (two).

During his two years in San Francisco he had Alex Smith commanding the offense, but Ginn never seemed comfortable.

Good point...

Ginn has never had a QB who can get him the ball deep.

His hands have been somewhat of an issue but so far for us...he has been hauling them in

Aw hell no.  That's a huge part of his value, at least for the time being.  Until he's playing every down and needs to conserve energy, or reduce risk of injury, etc., or when someone else better comes along, this dude has to return kicks too.  He's a proven threat there in a big way. Those rushing yards he picked up on one play were pretty cool too.

I love Ginn so far. He definitely allows for some exciting deep throws that are actually completed (well sometimes, no ones perfect). He brings a lot of energy and game changing play ability.

Ginn is our biggest threat to go deep right now. He's the WR with homerun potential. I love Smitty as much if not more than anyone else but he's not getting deep balls like he used to. And that's okay. Ginn stepping in to fill that void only makes Smitty more useful in other facets of the passing game.

Completely agree with this, I think Ginn and 89 compliment each other very nicely.

Ginn can definitely be more than just a returner for us, but we'll have to see.

Only on a 1 year contract, I guess he'll know he needs to work for it if he wants that extending.

Hmmmm that would explain a lot. I think you might be on to something here. I'm off to investigate. I will find answers to this mystery.
