Pft:

haynesworth has “bad sprain”
posted by michael david smith on december 14, 2008, 5:02 p.m.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells pft that albert haynesworth suffered a “bad sprain” in the final moments of today’s loss to the houston texans.

The exact extent of the injury will not be known until team doctors have the results of an mri exam, which is scheduled to be conducted on monday. The injury took place when haynesworth ended up on the ground with his left leg pinned under a pile of players.

Losing haynesworth for any time at all would be a significant blow to the titans. Haynesworth has been a dominating presence in the middle of the titans’ defensive line this season, and he has a career-high 8.5 sacks.

The titans host the steelers next week in a game that could determine home-field advantage throughout the afc playoffs.

idk. titans are awfully tough. if haynesworth is 100% when the playoffs start, they CAN beat any team in the league. if haynesworth is done, then they are finished.

they have a great coach, a great defense and a great running game. thats all you need to win the big game.

Won't be the first time that the league has seen a team peak way too early and fall flat come playoff time.

Certainly better to be coming together and peeking like say....the Panthers than to start out 10-0, then slip. That being said, defense and a strong running game should be there after a 2 week bye. Whoever comes to Tennessee will be beat up and on a weeks rest. Big equalizer.

If it's the Jets, MIA, DEN, or BAL ... I could see that happening

If NE, IND, or (god forbid) SD come to Nashville divisional week ... nice knowin you Titans
