There are way too many WRs on the list of "Wanna have in Charlotte" ahead of Nicks. Contract $ notwithstanding:

Boldin, Jacoby Jones, James Jones, Jeremy Maclin, Brandon Tate, Kevin Walter, Josh Morgan.... I'd rather have any of those guys than Nicks....

I rather have him and one of those guys. We really need to upgrade the WR corp two fold. Also LaFell is going to walk because I bet my bottom dollar that Gettle is going to low ball him. He can find WRs like LaFell anywhere.

smh at people acting like Nicks is some bit player in this league. He would easily become the best guy we've had beside Smitty since '03-'04 Moose.

I hope the Gettles connection and the hometown lure helps bring him here.

Hicks was the #1 in New York until Victor Cruz emerged and Hicks proved he couldn't stay on the field. Problem is, Hicks is going to look for #1 money after a couple years of health problems that cost him the #1 spot.

The Panthers need to find a #1 for Steve Smith at some point. The annual ostrich syndrome where the Panther organization repeatedly sticks its head in the sand and pretends Smith isn't getting any older will only work for another season at best.

This is Hicks current rookie contract (this is pre-NFL rookie salary mandates):

8/1/2009: Signed a five-year, $12.54 million contract. The deal included a $6.5 million signing bonus. Another $1.65 million is available through incentives.

2013: $2.725 million

2014: Free Agent
