Our line played horribly against the bills so it could happen
against buffalo and seattle we were facing mobile quarterbacks against which the defensive line was coached to crash the backfield first, diagnose second, with the goal of simply disrupting the play. these types of breakdowns are more escapable for mobile quarterbacks who are more likely to make a play by either escaping the pressure and running or gaining time to hit an open man. to this end we were also playing a cautionary contain strategy against wilson and manuel.
with eli we saw a different strategy, and i don't think it just worked because the giants line is bad (they aren't world-beaters but they aren't as bad as advertised.) our next four quarterbacks are carson palmer, christian ponder, sam bradford, and mike fuging glennon (followed by matt ryan, who, while the most dangerous of the group, is just as immobile as the worst of them.)
i expect this defensive line to get hot quick.
