The Redskin started 3-6 last year and the defense was and still is one of the worse in the league. And I'm sure if RG3 wasn't injured they'd be running a lot more of the option thus controlling the clock. But, even though they're not running the option they still move the ball down field pretty well and RG3's stat(325 yards/game, 63%) is NOT struggling QB stat however you rationalize. Morris is also doing work. The offense ranks 5th offensively in yardage. So, the problem, like last year, still lies on their defense.

As far as tough throws go, you'd be lying if you say RG3 is incapable of making though throws. It's a weekly highlight for him. Your point is well taken but when you exaggerate it minimizes it because I watch the games too. I can't speak for Kaepernick because I don't think he is a pure passer. But RG3 is. I have good eyes for those things. Many of the QBs today I took notice of them since their time on Rivals because of their passing ability. Guys like Bridgewater, Rodgers, Geno, RG3, etc. have the uncanny ability to throw the football and I saw them coming before stepping a foot on campus. Whether they make it professionally is a different story. Those guys were always gifted passers. Guys like Manuel, Jamarcus, gabbert, quinn, etc. were always just coached QBs.

Sorry to say, but Cam is not a gifted passer. And it doesn't mean he can't do what the gifted passers do, he just have to focus more to do them. And when he is not paying attention the result shows.

rg3 turnovers cost the redskins those two games not the defense. it's hard for any defense when you have 3 and outs and turnovers for the majority of the game until you are so out of reach it doesn't even matter.

and putting guys like geno, rg3, and bridgewater (wtf) in the same category as rodgers means you don't watch football.

Cam is a gifted passer (not in the sense of brady, rodgers, peyton, brees) but he makes throws that those 4 can make. but he definitely has major work today to even begin to try and be on those guys' level.

and you are comparing peytons facade stats to rg3. big difference is the broncos were dominating and winning, the redskins eh not so much.

The thing is though RG3 set himself up for this poo with his press conferences and telling everyone the day after his surgery he'd be back by week one. Now if he plays like poo because his ACL surgery was only 9 months ago (which you have so cleverly bolded for emphasis), it's basically on him.

That's fair. But when people are claiming that he amassed his stats on uncontested games shows that they're overly hating. The guy is accurate with the ball and it shows even in losing. Accuracy is a trend for him because he was accurate last year and every year he's been playing football. Some people in here could be great contestant in the player hate ball(ala dave chappelle). lol

RG3 looked like poo the first two games.

His stats look good but if you actually watched those two games it wasn't until they were down 30+ points in the second half and teams conceding little 8 yard passes that he was able to accumulate those stats.

He has not looked healthy and was bad in those two games despite ending up with 300+ yards and most of his TDs.

And I like RG3 but he has looked bad although I didn't see their last game

RG3 can throw the ball for sure.

The problem is: He can't read defenses to save his life. Sorry! Football doesn't take place in a vacuum.

He also doesn't throw well with defenders in his face, surveying the field. And he's also very fragile, and not strong enough to fend off defenders in front of him. He's just not a top flight NFL passer. And many of us, said this all last year; not just because he's struggling now.

Nonetheless, he and Kaepernick are very reliant on gimmicks, motion, misdirection, and their run games in order to get their passes off, and complete them. And they usually throw to wide open receivers that my grandmother could hit. RG3, in particular, is an excellent passer throwing to a spot on the field (even with an incoming defender). But how about their 2nd, or 3rd read behind the LOS, when the play breaks down? Yeah, RG3 runs, or gets happy feet.

Doesn't mean those two guys don't have talent or their attributes. They do. However, they have more to learn about being pocket QB's, and reading defenses, than Cam Newton does.

I'm not sure you understand what we're all saying (i.e. Cam makes it happen, mostly by himself. Kaepernick and RG3, until proven otherwise, are products of their system)? At least more so than Cam, Wilson, Luck and Tannenhill. It's clear to see.

1. Good point, but not exactly the point being discussed.

2. What's with the obsession in defending rodgers' pride in this forum? Re-read the sentence I wrote which included Rodgers name on it.  It wasn't about putting anybody into any category. Rodgers' ass could barely get a scholarship out of high school. That's the time period I'm referring to(nor considered the top 2 pick of the NFL).

By the way, I see nothing special about Rodgers or anybody who plays a non-athletic position like QB. Anybody and everybody can throw a football. Heck, that's why rodgers play QB. Talk to me when you want to compare AJ Green vs Calvin.  Something less abstract and prejudicial. You can't be the greatest ever for having the most assist. That's why Michael Jordan is the greatest bball player ever. A QBs' job is to make assist.

3. I don't think you have the sense to understand what I mean on this one.

uhhhh if your argument is "anybody can throw the football" then there really isn't anything else to discuss. And rodgers has mobility.

and I understood what you meant by Cam not being a prolific passer

I'm not saying he looks great, but I'm sure RG3 is not the first QB who ever start slow in a game. So the game against the eagles with 9:15 left down 33-20 in the 4th with a redskin possession is considered uncontested? Why didn't the eagles pull their starter? Were they running the score? Or maybe RG3 was putting up those numbers against 3rd stringer to pad his stat. Come on, now! I don't wanna hear between the numbers story. 325 yards/game 63% comp. is good no matter what standard. Teams don't take their foot off the gas. That's what the 3rd stringers are for. Teams don't play soft with their starters because it risks injuries.

You don't get it.

Many of us thought/knew RG3 didn't really look so great LAST YEAR. Even Redskins fans early in the season, were saying "stop playing this high school offense" to Shanahan, until they started miraculously winning.

RG3 did not play in a pro set last year. It was [literally] a high school offense. Did you watch, understand it?

The few times RG3 didn't have to hit a wide open receiver on a timing route, he looked jittery. The same can be said for Kaep. Happy feet.

This is why many of us, extolled the virtues of Cam, Luck, Wilson and  even Tannehill, over those other two LAST Year.

This has nothing to do with how RG3 and Kaep are playing now. They have talent. Hopefully they will play better. But this is not (pardon the pun) Monday Night Quarterbacking. This was discussed last year, during their rookie seasons, by fans that actually watched their games.

In come the abstract 'can't read defense' argument to a guy who averages, 325yards/game and over 30 attempts. Good one, buddy!

And this wasn't an RG3 vs Cam debate. The debate was about the undermining of his stats. Which is ridiculous. Don't include Luck in your argument. So far he hasn't shown anything but a game manager. If Luck is that good why not unleash(ala skip) him on the league. Really!

I wasn't sure if this was a troll account or not until this post.

Not bad.  Not bad trolling at all.
