I will say this about Cam and Carolina.
Us adults debate about him all the time. But these kids i see at games just love him so much.
At training camp every time he is even within 50 yards of the fans every kid there (plus TheRed) scream for him.
You don't see that with any other player.
If he sticks around he will be a key factor in further integrating the younger generation and fanbase of the future with the Panthers team.
I have not seen a Charlotte athlete with that kind of popularity since Larry Johnson.
Personally, I believe that is the main reason we are invaded by other teams fans at games. We are still basically a first generation team. Once all these kids that have grown up with the Panthers start bringing their kids to the games, there will be less room for the interlopers.
Cam has gone a long way in making this a reality. He definitely is a polarizing presence. Kids absolutely love him. If he is here his entire career, by then we will be filling BOA with almost 3 generations of Panther fans.
IMO, we are still a few years from being able to fill BOA with just Panther fans. But...we are getting closer every year. And having a player like Cam is going to make that easier.
As I have said numerous times. The future is bright. And it all stems from the kids, and Cam.
