D-Will and J-Stew will retire as Panthers.  I don't care we are paying them trillions of dollars.

http://davedameshek....heres-the-deal/

Panthers get WR Hakeem Nicks; Giants get RB Jonathan Stewart

Nicks – who’ll be gone from the Giants after this season – is the ideal solution for the restlessness his fellow North Carolina natives have endured since watching superhuman Cam Newton throw to an aging Steve Smith and a bunch of powder blue-clad Clark Kents.  Stewart gives the Giants an imperfect cure to their weak backfield situation.

I wouldn't do this.  We're going to need Jstew more then we need Hicks this season.  It is an interesting proposal, and on the surface sort of exciting.   But we're one Dwill injury away from the season being a total wash if there's no depth behind him. I like Barner and I think he will develop but not this year, it's too late.   This is a trade I would make however if for some reason if we're out of the playoffs before the trade deadline just because we'll be in better position next year.

Smith, Nicks, LaFell and Ginn would be a nice group.

I love JStew, but this is not a 2 RB league anymore, it's a passing league. We'd be just fine with DLo, Tolbert and Barner, IMO.

I don't see this trade happening, and I don't think JStew is going anywhere. I do however believe there is a high probability that Nicks could very well be a Panther next season. I would absolutely be good with that.

Go Panthers!

Just a FYI, JStew's signing bonus wouldn't accelerate this season. The dead money cap hit would be the exact amount it's already counting toward the cap (and we'd remove his base salary so we'd actually end up with more cap space). The remaining amount on the signing bonus would accelerate towards next season.

$18M down the drain in dead money? This isn't going to happen with our cap issues. Cute idea but 0 chance bc we'd take the dead money hit immediately for 2014 when the trade happens and you can't cut it up with a June 1 designation.

A lot of his guaranteed money is in base salaries, which we wouldn't have to pay or take cap hits for if he's traded (the new team would take that on). His signing bonus was 9 million and 3.6 of that has already hit the cap.

Sure there is, you ask the player to downsize his signing bonus.

Hell, a contract can be rewritten for a player to lose all his signing bonus and play for 1 dollar, if the player would agree to it.

There's a league minimum and its not a dollar there boss.
