A Giants win does not make me optimistic about RR. I will need much more than that, certainly a record over .500.

Give them nothing. But take from them everything.

It is funny I was watch the Panther Huddle and a pregame statement made me think of the same thing.

GOOD MOVIE BTW

Is this where 'Fug" comes in and tells you to stop making threads until you know what your talking about?

NFC East, NFC South and AFC North divisions are all stumbling out of the gates, so we will take it.  I suspect that we could be tied for the lead in about 4 weeks.

I'd say this is about as close to a must win as you can have as well...

A loss here would all but demoralize everyone.  AZ is no knock off, they can beat us if we don't play/make stupid decisions.

We got to go at least 3-1 with those next 4 games...

When you watch last years Giants game and the week 3 game, I saw a lot of growth in Ron's handle of the game.

Tom had Ron's number last year and Ron kicked Tom's team in the teeth week 3.

When you look at the play calling and the defense we played that not only held an NFL team to 0 points, we were also protecting our weak secondary from a strong passing attack.

I still want to see him win  a close game where he has to manage the clock and still play aggressive defense, but I'm sure that game will come soon enough.

Divisional record does not matter unless your overall record is tied with the team and you are 1-1 against them.

So if we sweep the saints and end up at the end of the season with a tied overall record, then we are the divisional champs. If the same thing happens but we are 1-1 with the saints then divisional record matters.

From NFL.com

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION

If, at the end of the regular season, two or more clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is determined.

Two Clubs
  1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
  4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
  5. Strength of victory.
  6. Strength of schedule.
  7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
  8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
  9. Best net points in common games.
  10. Best net points in all games.
  11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
  12. Coin toss

What would the Huddle do if a tie-breaker came down to strength of schedule... All we've done the past 5 years is bitch about having the hardest in the league. What IF that is what won us the division!?!?! Boom! Mind.... Blown.

Damn we should have won those first 2 fuging games... we'd be looking real pretty right now.  Tied with the Saints for first in the NFC.

Unfortunately it is not the preseason SOS but rather the end of season.

The Dirty Pigeons and Butt Pirates are struggling. This is a sign from the football deities people! After all the hype surrounding a specific secondary with a douche head coach, and an offense loaded with weapons and a weak-minded QB, and the crap pile of disrespect we received from every media outlet... we're fudging second in the division. We have an opportunity next week to close the gap and stay on The Taints' heels. Like I said after we started 0-2, it ain't over til it's over.

Didn't we end the season at 7-9 @2nd place in the division. Two steps forward, two steps back?

If we get above .500 then I'll start celebrating because then I think RR and the Panthers will have turned a corner.

Cardinals are a lot tougher on the road normally. Lets not forget they recently beat a 3-1 Lions team

That defense is pretty stout. Cam is gonna have his hands full since they're strong against the run BUT Palmer isn't exactly Brady, especially when there's pressure. This is a very winnable game for us. If our D-Line can hit him hard for 2 quarters at least, I think that'll be enough to silence Fitzgerald.

Its going to take more than blowing out an 0-4 giants team for me to believe we are a play off team with rivera as hc. If we can at least come out of october with at least a 4-3 record only then I think we'll have a shot

2nd in the division without playing any divisional games. Dont choke.

Question.

If we sweep the saints, but they have an overall better record than us, do we win the division or does the best record in the division wins? In other words, does overall record matter, or does the divisional record matter?

Based on the answer we could be practically 0-0

embarrassing question.
