I'm ready to see what this kid has.  Not sure how much he will play, but I'm sure he'll get a few touches.  The next few years could be exciting with him and b. williams.

Do you think he will get a shot a punt returns?

I know ginn is our #1 and rightfully so, still, do you give him a shot to shine in this game?  If he does, that will be good for ginns' body down the stretch.  Dont get me wrong, I want ginn in clutch, game deciding punt returns but we really need him healthy at wr.

would love to see barner run one back in his debut!

After watching Sproles rack up 2 td's and over 100 yards in the FIRST HALF Monday night, I couldn't help but think about the possibilities with Barner.

That said, we still have the Shula-meister running the show, so who knows.

Shula used Dunn well in Tampa. He was an all around RB.

I doubt he sees the field. Maybe once or twice

williams has a history of running well against the cardinals.

unless williams just goes flat all of a sudden or barner does something absolutely spectacular right out of the box, i don't see barner getting much playing time.

Ginn is one of the best in the game....and he has had limited chances. You don't limit him more IMO.

No one should be even trying to return kicks but Ginn.. unless he's hurt of course

You guys have to realize that Barner is not an NFL starter back until he develops. It would be a dream if he develops into the next Sproles but that is a very unique situation. It is much easier to develop an offense around a back like Williams or Stewart who are both bigger and plenty fast and can block.

Barner has a great college style that may not translate into the NFL. Or maybe it will.

But don't expect him just to step in and take carries away from Williams

Barner will fit well into nickel looks...

I predict him to finish 2nd rushing yards (RBs) and first in rec yards (RBs) this season

I doubt Barner runs a lot , seeing as how he's been injured for the past four or so weeks. Still needs to get into game shape.

First. Rivera said that DWill was a little winded at the end of the Giants game. So I see Barner getting a few carries, especially in the second half. Unless he implodes, he should get a few touches.

Second. Rivera is excited about Barner. That should get him on the field as well. And Barner has stated that Tolbert showed him the way to pick up a blitz. Barner took to it like a Duck to water. Ouch.

Lastly. Barner is going to get touches. The number and when they come is the only debate. If he does well, he will continue to get touches. If he stumbles, the touches will remain low.

Personally, I am excited to see what the kid can do.

You don't get touches until you can prove those touches won't touch the ground. Barner got hurt before he could do that. RR remembers the preseason even if a bunch here don't. Let him WORK his way back into the lineup.

As conservative as RR is....I would be surprised if he saw a lot of work. I think he is concerned with the time off and will be worried if he knows all the assignments with such a long gap since camp.

I think he plays and I believe he plays alot...

I think he would be nice in some read options play or a sweep play to the edge, but before we do that we have to get our ground and pound running game going first, to put the offense in rhythm.
