Sad to see Beason go, but this is why we drafted Klein.

On another note, do we know what we got in return for Beason? I heard a 5th round pick, but I haven't seen any sort of confirmation on this.

Maybe if it were still 2010.  That's the last time Beason contributed much of anything.

This season, he just wasn't playing well at all.

I swear, half the people talking about this don't seem to have been paying attention for the last three years.

Fixed it for you.

We'll honestly be pretty lucky to get a fifth.

If Beason is still playing 6 more years - 1 for recovery they will have a probowl MLB MLB not OLB for a 5th, no seriously this is a very bad joke.

What would you suggest they should have done, benched or moved Kuechly?

Beason hasn't played even a full quarter of a season since 2010.

Counting on him to be ready to go for six more years is thinking worthy of Marty Hurney.

You can't base a football team off of "if's"

Beason's made like, 23 tackles if I recall correctly since 2010.

23 tackles.

He's not the Beason he used to be, and considering the nature of the injuries he had, I doubt he ever, ever will be.

I love Beason as much as the next guy but he was gone next year anyway. We got something for him, which would not have happened otherwise.
Obviously I would have liked to get more, but something > nothing.

I think it's pretty likely we could've gotten a "low-round" compensatory selection if we let him walk at year's end, so in that sense I hope we got at least a fifth (though I'm not holding my breath). We could certainly have used him for depth, so it would've been nice to get something more than a 6th or 7th we'd likely get anyway.
