Actually you're totally wrong about his restructure!

I knew I wasn't trippin

Just as an FYI, that site is not reliable at all when it comes to salary/contract info.

I remember when they had a front page article about how Hurney was such a genius because he heavily front-loaded CJ's contract. They even thought we had taken a $30 million-plus cap hit in year one because of his signing bonus. None of that was even remotely close to reality.

Oh I know, it James Dator's site. It pained me very very much to even link his garbage but I can't find it anywhere else.
(Which could mean its not legit) but I remember reading threads about this earlier this summer. People had the legit #s through the NFL contract site or what not

Only one guy reported that.  We still save 4 mil. his dead space money was supposed to be 8 mil.  we might have to eat his signing bonus.

Remember he also had a game bonus. 1.75 mil he would get if he was active all 16 games. I'm guessing that's voided now.

Since you've obviously already looked at his details, can you fill me in on how much dead money we're talking about?

I'm guessing it has to be pretty substantial based on his old contract/signing bonus.

5,250,000 in dead money. restructuring the contract voided 8M of the dead money (If I am reading it right)

Bonuses like that don't always impact the cap until it actually happens. It depends on whether or not it was considered as "likely to be earned".

Either way it's 1.75 mil we are off the hook for now.

I'm glad we've finally got a GM that does business with player moves, not personal favors.

Why would you get rid of his jersey?

Jesus, I don't understand some people. . .

Wish Beason the best, but his extension got the worst return on investment of any Hurney gave out.

Seems to me like we come up on the short end, trading Beason for a 7th round pick. Good luck Beast...
