"...the Armed Forces Network is currently unavailable."

That's what my son-in-law got when he tried to watch the MLB playoffs.

No football for them tomorrow.

Dam obama!  Just wants to make sure it hurts!  Bastard. Closed the grand canyon as well.  But the dems have not given much of a crap about the military.

Almost half of the NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration) is on furlough. You know, the guys who track hurricanes and tropical storms, among other things....

But all of the Border Patrol is on the job. Go figure. What's more important, protecting the public from hurricanes and storms or from the maids and nannies crossing the border for work everyday?

Just like the application of obamacare.  Pick and chose.

Ummm, the Republican majority Congress closed the gates, not the Dems, they don't have the votes.

Oh, that's right, the Repubs want you to believe their majority in the House isn't capable of doing this and the minority Dems voted to close the government down.

A funding bill was sent to the House. The Repubs voted it down, thereby closing down government.

Yeah obama is just letting the hostages stay with the people holding them. Smart move. Refusing to let hostages be released.

over 80% of the government still running?

Then they are trying to make some high profile cuts to inflict as much pain as possible this time around.

Remember how the sky was gonna fall during the sequester?  They won't make the same mistake this time

The chicken little politicians want to be needed.

No, I don't remember when the sky was going to fall during the sequester. I do, however, remember what was actually going to happen instead of listening to Fox News morons tell you what you wanted to hear to make you feel better, just like they are doing during the shutdown, er, I mean the slimdown.

    • Steve Beuerlein's pointing about not holding on to the ball so long was interesting to me. Some of you who remember when Beuerlein was here will remember that he took a straight beating in '99 and '00 and he also had a tendency to hold onto the ball for too long. It might be smart for Cam to listen to someone who had 21 surgeries from football injuries because of this. I love me some Cam and I want to see him as the starting QB for the Panthers for a long time to come.
    • As an LSU fan, I've seen nearly all of Fournette's games and he is the real deal. He was the best running back on the team. It does not take a genius to run the read option running attack and most of the work is on the Qb. I wouldn't mind either but Fournette should be taken if he's available.      My pipedream is for us to trade next year's 1st and both 2's for us to get a Fournette and Howard combo. I think it would be worth it.
    • I'm surprised that people actually buy into this idea that our offense is going to look drastically different. I'd be shocked if it does. I hope I'm wrong, but a leopard doesn't change it's spots. If Shula had the ability to adapt he would've already done it. He is who he is and this offense is what it is. If you want real changes you make a change at OC. We didn't and we'll see an offense that looks far more familiar than different next season.
