I keep seeing everyone suggesting that there is no way Rivera is fired mid-season.  I'm curious if G-man is such a great GM why he wouldn't do this now.  The season looks lost.   Perhaps firing Rivera would jumpstart a miracle comeback.  What else is there to lose?  Make McD the HC and see what happens says I.

If he was a great GM he would have been able to fire him after last year....but our owner calls the shots

Gettleman is a yes man. JR runs this show. He does what Richardson tells him to do.

It was Jerry who forced Rivera on Gettleman in the first place. Yet you think Gettleman actually calls the shots? Nope.

it should have happened after we lost to the Giants, but they are so bad we couldn't do it.  there is no downside, but it's hard for me to say yesterday's loss was Ron's fault.

The Rivera thing will play itself out. I know we want blood, but that issue will take care of itself.

What does this mean?  How does this issue take care of itself?  Is Rivera going to quit?

Jerry Richardson would have to pay his salary for the rest of the season even though he wouldn't be coaching.  That is the only downside.  The upside, maybe the reaction the team would have to losing their coach would either make the team go into tank mode so we could have a good draft pick or maybe finally light a fire under the team and start winning.  Either way it's worth a shot because nothing is changing with Rivera at the helm.

I honestly can't see the downside, how much less prepared can we be?

I think we are all wondering that same thing. Firing a coach mid season just isn't J.R 's way.

Of all the replacements that Rivera had to hire this season he did a good job of not hiring a capable fill in.
