DAY 1

As many of us know the Charlotte Bobcats are in somewhat of a financial crisis right now with them not having a majority owner. With this being the case the Bobcats decided not to field a summer league team, however they did send acouple of players to different teams to get their first experience of what the NBA is all about. Derrick Brown was one of those guys that Larry Brown decided to put on a summer league team, and he sent him to Orlando with the Utah Jazz.

In the Jazz's first matchup they played the Boston Celtics. The game got out of hand right away and the Celtics won easily 87-56. However Derrick Brown did impress some folks down there in Orlando, not only did he start at Forward he had a pretty decent game. Brown played a total of fourteen minutes and seventeen seconds (remember the lack of playing time comes because this is Utah's summer league team so expect the Utah Jazz players to acquire more playing time). During this time Brown went three for seven from the field and zero for one behind the three point arc. He did manage to go three for three from the line and also tallied one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds giving him a total of three boards in the game. Brown also had nine points and three fouls in the loss to Boston.

Note: There are no foul outs in summer league games. Players have an unlimited amount of fouls they can give, however most coaches will sub a player out if they acquire five or six fouls in a game.

No not really, with the team he's on. He's going to be the starter, pretty much a given with what the pacers said. Everyone calls him slow, but he was faster then Blake at the Combine, and his jumping numbers were right there with his too. So no I wouldn't be surprised if he went out and average 15 pts and 6 boards a game.

Wouldn't be suprised at all but remember this is only summer league he is not going up against other big Power Forwards like LaMarcus Aldridge, Carlos Boozer, Chris Bosh, Elton Brand, Boris Diaw, Kevin Garnett, Pau Gasol, Al Harrington, Antawn Jamison, David Lee, Rashard Lewis, Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki, Lamar Odom, Josh Smith, David West, Charlie Villanueva, Amare Stoudemire, and Rasheed Wallace which will all be good matchups to test his NBA readiness. However with that said I think he can do it.
