Since some are turning on Cam I have 4 question for you.

Recommended Posts

Cam holds the ball for more than 4 seconds on many plays.  Manning averages 2.5.  His line's sack total will be substantially less. Right now, he is 5-0 with a second team LT and a third string C.  Gross and Kalil are much better.  Are his WRs in Denver better than ours?  They weren't before he got there.

I see what you are saying, but I am just saying that there is no reasonable defense for Cam.  You can say Peyton had better WRs--maybe Lafell, Smitty, and Edwards would be stars with him.  Who knows.

Dude I'm trying to give you the beneifit of doubt because their is no fuging way you're sitting here Comparing a 3RD YEAR PLAYER to a 16th YEAR PLAYER who is (4x MVP, 14x pro bowl, 10x all pro) and think you're making a valid point.

If you were talking about Peyton in his 3rd year we can debate. But this poo you're trying to do now is idiotic.

We really could go on forever with this argument and neither would win or change the other's mind.  Here is why:

When you have a good QB, the WRs are better.  Our WRs suck.

When the opposing offense is having to take chances to keep up with your offense, the defense gets more turnovers.  WHen we score 12 points per game, the opposing offenses can stay conservative and wait for our 4th quarter meltdown.

So you can't say that our line gives up more sacks than Denver's and that means they are worse if the QB holds the ball 1.5 seconds longer per pass play.

I respect your opinion and see it clearly, but there are just 2 or more sides to every stat.  Bottom line to me is this: Who does Cam make better?  Is Smitty better now than with Jake?  Is DW better?  Stew?

When you have a good QB you add talent around him.

Even with the great Peyton Manning Denver added Welker and another young TE. The Panthers added what again??

Yes I can say our OLIne gives up more sacks because even with Cam throwing less passes doing less drop backs. He is sacked more then Manning.

Is a 25-29 year old Smitty better then the 34 year old Smitty did you truly asked this question??

Are you new to the internet? You post an opinion, someone else is going to disagree. It happens.

Let's spare ourselves with the interweb bad ass routine now.

Oh.  Thanks. Since you seem to have mastered the internet, am I to assume by your examples that ,being a dick is encouraged in this brave new world?

Humans have been being "dicks" to each other long before there was internet, and still will be long after.

Did Jake ever QB a top 5 scoring Offense???

While having better WR's, Better OLine, a Better Defense and 2 1,000 yard backs??

Do you honestly think Cam is playing with a better Wr's Corp then Jake???

Are you serious that a 34 year old Smitty is better then the 25 thru 29 year old Smitty??

I think Colin Cowherd said it best this morning on his show. You draft a QB, you protect him, then you get him weapons. To hell with D. Denver gave up 48 points yesterday and won. This is now an offensive driven league because that's what people want to see. What difference does it make if you can't stop the run if you can basically score at will and keep the ball away from the opposition.

I see flashes with Cam but I have to be honest I have never really been a fan. I just haven't seen "it" when I have seen him play. With 2 minutes left in a game, Cam wouldn't be a qb I would want in a no huddle offense. I don't have faith in him to lead a 4th quarter comeback. He may be a good NFL qb and put up a lot of stats, but I don't think he could ever lead a team to a Super Bowl victory. My opinion, flame away.

I don't know how many games he's lost by himself. I don't have nfl ticket and rarely get to watch a panthers game.

Cam may need a better system for him to grow as a NFL qb. If the panthers want to win, cam can't spend half the game on his back and the other half running for his life. Get some O linemen and get someone for him to throw to and that can run.

Also, I think RR threw a little jab at DG in his presser today. Made a comment about our OL depth being an issue.....saying we saw that issue come up last year.

It is true. No excuse for it

Teflon Ron's ability to completely deflect any blame away from himself is second to none. I used to like him in spite of all his game day gaffes, but the post game interviews are what make me want to ship his ass out of town.

Once again comparing Cam to Manning is a invalid argument from the start, He's not that type of qb he's a big ben type of guy who's ceiling is still up there.

Even the great Peyton manning had all that talent and choked come playoff time until 06 when he finally got past brady, And Peyton is still in his prime IMHO dude is set to break his own records at this pace. Problem is you guys always label anyone who defends cam as someone who can't see his flaw, well we do we just don't overblow them like most you guys on this forum......at least give cam one of these and you will see a greater improvement

1.O Line

2.A competent OC with a good qb coach

3.A true #2 or #1 WR(excludes smith because you never know when he'll hang it up)

4.A coach who doesn't play favorites and puts the players who give us the BEST chance to win on the field

Guarantee one of these and Cam will look like the HOF we all predict after season 1

Crazy thought here. But maybe you should actually, you know, watch a few Panthers games before making such statements?

and there's the 4th bullpoo, like Cam hasn't put us in position to score or scored while the defense pissed it away in the final minutes

I have watched a few panthers games and I'll still make that statement.

Define "a few".

Do I really have to emphasize the importance of seeing more than "a few" games before making such judgments on a player?
