Walking Dead Season 4

I wasn't that excited for it tonight...and I blame Breaking Bad/Mad Men.

Basically this. At 9pm I sat and really contemplated watching baseball, football, or Walking Dead. And I don't even like baseball. When new episodes of Breaking Bad or Mad Men are on, the world shuts down for an hour. I'm sticking with it, though. It's decent enough television and I've been watching since day one, episode one, so I feel some obligation to finish it out.

It was good, but not as good as I'd hoped.

Rick is a giant pussy and apparently so is Tyrese.

Let's don't teach the kids how to defend themselves from the walkers... no, let's pretend like nothing is wrong.  Geesh.

Pretty good episode.  The Big Stop store scene was pretty cool.

As soon as I saw the sick pig in the pen I thought "somethings airborne" and then when the boar in the woods was sick I was double sure, then Phillip (?) gets sick and dies (and turns I guess). Rut roh raggy.

I'm guessing the governor is the one feeding the zombies and causing them to mass at the fence, but I suppose that could be too obvious.

I watched a little of Talking Dead afterwards, too, with the exec. producer.

So many friggin couples last night it was like "Z-Harmony".

Heck, I even wondered if they were setting up Carl to have a thing with the girl that argued with him.

And Darryl getting called "Pookie"

Exactly how I felt. It's still a good show, but it's losing me. I was more excited to watch Sopranos reruns on HBOGo after it finished.

I also couldn't watch without thinking Cutty and D'Angelo from the Wire had been transported into a world of zombies.

For the first time, disease seems to be slipping into the fold.

Something that should have happened a long time ago with all the blood, guts, open wounds, no meds...etc, but whatever.

Swine flu of some type?

You said that and it just dawned on me... I was thinking along the lines of the "zombie disease" for lack of a better term had become airborne... but they can die from anything and then they'll turn.

It's probably exactly what you said, some kind of swine flu or something...

That's what I would gather with the dead pig.  Kind of their way at throwing another trying-to-be-subtle-but-not-so-much hint.

    • Those generally aren't set until August or so. No way of really telling the games that will be worth being nationally televised beyond the basic rivalries that are big draws anyway (Pens vs Caps, for example) until after all the roster moves get settled and coverage of practices and preseason games start giving everybody an idea of where teams are talent wise. I expect us to get at least a few NBC games, because our division has too many big draws for us to get completely shut out of national games.
