Also, it doesn't help me when they continue to do pointless things like fill a trash bag full of detritus from the wrecked car to use as survival gear when there are two perfectly good rolling suitcases on the roof of the car... They ignore stuff like that and it bugs the crap out of me...

Beth wasn't wanting to get her drink on as much as she just wanted a goal, something to accomplish. Given where they were it was a good start as well as giving Beth a voice instead of being the full time babysitter.

Agreed, but don't you give Daryl's character more credit than for those two to be out there on their own, hopeless?

I thought he was some sort of super hero tracker redneck that could dodge bullets behind a file cabinet and touch a hot tank barrel... but, you expect me to believe he's so ready to give up the chase?

I know what they were aiming for... they just missed the mark for me...

I guess it just felt like they focused too much on two characters... two characters that I really don't care about at this point...

They need to either kill off a lot of the fat (starting with characters that don't exist in the comics) or get them all back together pretty fast because this constant flipping back and forth between the different groups is turning into more filler than is needed.

They want to be GOT so bad they can't stand it, but they do almost everything wrong when trying to achieve that level of film success...

This episode gave me a little hope that they are either tearing down Daryl a bit in the eyes of the viewers or building him up even more so that they can pull the rug out when he dies and it will have more of an effect on the audience. That's about the only thing I got out of it, really. Otherwise, it was basically about a girl wanting to get her drink on in a world where that is the last thing one should be concerned with. Both characters had basically given up, and by the end I hoped they'd form a suicide pact so that I wouldn't have to endure any more of their empty characters.

I get the impression that you're watching this show only to see events from the comics play out.  I haven't read too much of the comics but I've read plenty enough to know if they just followed them for the show it'd be horrible.

I agree with a lot you're saying (too much filler) but I think we disagree about the the filler is.  I too wasn't interested in Beth and Daryl, but now I am.  Before this episode I was just waiting for them to find some other people but now they have something to build on and their story can be interesting.

For me the whole Glenn/Maggie thing seems incredibly forced.  Their relationship is completely hollow and their attempts to find each other are completely unbelievable to me.  Maggie clearing out that bus to make sure Glenn isn't one of the walkers?  Complete waste of time considering the viewers already knew Glenn was still alive from the promos.

I want to see stuff from the comics, sure. But, I do understand that they are different entities.

I like the show a lot, despite my constant criticisms. I just think that I see what the show could be as opposed to what it is. I blame the writers more than anything, and the actors themselves are a little underwhelming at times.

We're in total agreement on the Glenn/Maggie thing.

My biggest issue is that we're now four episodes into this second half of a season and they've basically given us no real movement towards tying the chaos of the post-prison scenarios back together. Instead, they've continued to give us overly dramatic dialogue lacking in any real substance for the most part and sometimes even pointless filler material.

There's only four episodes left this season and, at this rate, they'll get most of the group back together and present some kind of major cliffhanger at the end of the last episode. What happened to ending each week with something to look forward to and speculate upon? They are shooting themselves in the foot by changing from some of the character canon and then spending entire episodes to only now really develop characters that are, some of them, 4 seasons in...

Need a shane type  character that's an asshole that talks sense into people but is still a badass in his own right. Daryl lost me with that crap I watched a couple nights ago. Tyrese is all I have left but him running around playing babysitter is gonna get on my nerves real quick fast and in a hurry.

people that haven't read the comics are the ones missing the point of the show, not the other way around

Bout time for this week's episode of The Walking and the Restless... Or is it The Deads of our Lives? Maybe All My Zombies?
