Yeah prison stay has lasted too long and obviously they'll probably milk it till mid-season break (sigh).  I agree the lack of killing of a main character is hurting this show.  I'm not scared for anyone.  You're telling me all these people are infected and dying and not ONE of the main characters get sick or killed?  Come on.

This show needs to kill everyone minus like 4-5 people.  Rick and Carl, Michonne, Tyreese, Maggie, and maybe Glenn.  The rest need thinned out to make room for future stories.

What if Rick exiling Carol directly gets Daryl killed? I think that might be what they are building towards. Isn't it peculiar that The Governor shows up right after Rick gets back? I'm thinking that the Governor has Carol hostage, Daryl goes out to save her and dies. Just a thought. They are building to something bigger I feel. Those of you all like "uuhhhh I can take the show or leave it derp, derp," I'm assuming most of you were the same people clamoring for them to stop looking for Sophia right before they pulled the rug out from under you with the barn reveal. Now most people look back on that moment as one of the best of the series. This season has the same feel so far.

Lot of dynamics with the Carol exile and possible ramifications...

1) Rick does this thinking Tyreese will react badly.  Even though he had issues killing walkers at the fence and really has issues going off.  Saying that, Carol was present when Tyreese lost it and did go off on Rick and knows he can crack which is probably why she didn't put up much of a fight when Rick was telling her she wasn't going back.  Lot of maturity/evolving she showed in understanding what was best for the group...and not just her.

2) Rick does this...and now has the issue of breaking it to Daryl.  Daryl is going to flip out.  Who's going to be witness to all of this?  Tyreese and Michone I'm betting.  Tyreese may look upon Daryl negatively now IF Daryl goes apescheisse over the exile.  Maggie took it great.  Adds to the drama of what may be to come.  Let's say Daryl freaks out...we may see either the half season main character death or the end of spring season.  One's probably gone.

Theories...

Carol's not gone.  Just as the governor is not gone.  Daryl/Tyreese have a huge battle.  Governor enters the scene and begins a new reign of terror.  Carol is lurking after finding evidence of governor around.  In the half season climax, Carol puts her life on the line (and loses it) to aid in thwarting the governor's attack.  Daryl/Tyreese see this and move on.

*shrug*

Just some thoughts.

Every location drags out in a TV series like this. They have a budget, and it's an expensive show. Not too many TV shows have to provide 50 undead people per episode.

The current goings-on are perfect for the prison set, the lighting, the sick people in lockdown, the gloom...yeah they will be leaving eventually but gee whiz do people think they are just going to pack up and leave without any place to go to?

I know that all TV shows have people that feel the need to cut the legs out from under them, but really - killing off main characters "just to make it interesting" is absurd. There are some senseless deaths for sure but usually there are good reasons to kill off characters - TDog being a great example. I loved his character and wanted to see it expanded and was shocked when he got it, but Tyreese was coming along to be a new badaZz guy and he did die a real hero saving Carol and all.

The show is handling a lot of character arcs at the same time in a pretty well constructed way, the action scenes are still bringing it, and the character interactions are all either directly relevant or at least interesting to see where they go.

That psycho little girl for example, that almost inconsequential subplot has tons of potential for crazy things to happen. Herschel has been absolutely amazing too. Last nights episode had me feeling that it was the lowest point for the group...again. And that's pretty great.

The rumors I've read is that the entire next episode will be all about the Governor and will be showing where he's been and what he's been doing.

I think they are building a final attack on the prison (pretty obvious at this point) by the Governor to be the midseason finale.

I believe Daryl is actually going to be okay with Rick's decision. He won't like it, obviously, but he's shown that he'll be more level headed than most people want to think he will be. I expect his reaction to be more along the line of Maggie's with maybe a little rougher reaction at first. Tyreese will probably overreact some too, but will be okay because Sasha is going to be okay. He'll let the anger go that he and Michonne talked about.

I'm still not sure what to think happens with Carol. At this point, though, I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't even play a part in the prison arc anymore.

See that's cool - will Carol return wanting revenge, the kids, or sympathy and assistance? Will she join up with the Governor out there? It could go any way at all.

Thought last nights episode was better than some of the previous ones this season but that’s not saying much. Cleary they’re building towards something big but they’re doing a lousy job at building anticipation.

I'm honestly not a fan of Tyreese's character, which is weird because I loved him in the Wire.

Something bad is going to happen with Daryl that much is obvious.

I just hope Michonne stays alive. She's my favorite

My one gripe this season is the handling of Tyrese. We saw comic Tyrese when he found Karen's body for a fleeting minute. This whole "I don't like killing walkers" business is BS. In the comics, he and Rick clear walkers like two buddies shooting pool. I want that poo.

The whole cell block/Glenn sequence was the most gripping 20 or so minutes that this show has had in at least a season. Felt like it could've been something out of season one.

I just feel like between Herschel, Glenn, and Maggie, one of them is going to die very, very, very soon. Possibly more than one. I honestly thought Glenn was done for.

How great was Scott Wilson's (Herschel) acting in this last episode? Holy poo. The guy nailed it. And I'm glad to see Andrew Lincoln coming back around to season 1 and season 2 form. I enjoyed dictator Rick and all, but I more enjoyed the intense, yet soft Rick who thought things out and seemed to have a good head on his shoulders rather than obsessing over things and being a tad bit unreasonable in his approach to situations.

When the prison gets hit, I think we'll see the group sort of fall back into that season 1/season 2 mode where Rick is the leader, hands down, and everybody respects that and he isn't crazy with power, yet he will make calls and ask people to go with them and when they're not doing something with him, everybody is just pulling their weight and looking for ways to contribute to the overall welfare of the group, which is good, IMO.
