Anyone know why we haven't seen him for the second half?

....and would not be back for the rest of the game. I was at Fox Sports grill and it was noisy, but thought I heard something like that. Left the game.

Is he injured?

He's back in. It was weird - he didn't play for pretty much the second half and then they started playing him again.

Good to see him out there.

Weird. He basically got benched after his 56 yard touchdown. He only touched the ball twice after that. Maybe he was supposed to fall down before the end zone.

I mean I can understand why they did that though... They had a substantial lead and two people already got injured today.. No need to risk our top RB... I guess...

He easily could've gotten 100 yards today with 5 more touches. I'm bummed and pissed he didn't get more carries with how ineffective Stewart was. We could've destroyed the Broncos by even more.

You guys are forgetting what time of year it is. You don't want Williams going down awkward in a 30-10 game that the other team has rolled over in.

We've never been in this position so it's unusual to see, but you have to protect your big players in the final weeks of the season. He's going to need all his energy for the Giants game next week and we're going on short rest after playing on Monday night. Stewart could benefit from some extra carries so he got them. Win Win situation there.

:shakes head:

They were stacking the box knowing we were going to run. It didnt matter who was running the ball at the end. The coaches wanted to keep Dwill fresh....

I thought Stewart did a respectable job in the second half, all things being equal. Seemed like decent yardage to me. The time gave him some more reps, rested Deangelo, and gave the O-line game time working with the rookie in realtime.

D. Williams 12 88 1 56
J. Stewart 16 52 1 10

Didn't need anymore, save them for the Giants.

Realistically, outside of one crazy play, Stewart and Williams were equally effective.
