A WHOLE PIE!

I posted this in the MNF Chat thread, but figured it deserved its own thread so more people could see it and maybe appreciate our QB a little more.

Cam Newton: 11 TDs, 225 passing ypg, 60.8%, 5 INTs, 1 Fumble (5 games)

Andrew Luck: 9 TDs, 224 passing ypg, 61.8%, 3 INTs, 2 Fumbles (6 games)

Russell Wilson: 8 TDs, 209 passing ypg, 61.4%, 4 INTs, 5 Fumbles (6 games)

Colin Kaepernick: 8 TDs, 203 passing ypg, 55.9%, 5 INTs, 5 Fumbles (6 games)

Robert Griffin: 6 TDs, 289* passing ypg, 59.8%, 5 INTs, 6 Fumbles (5 games)

So even with that god-awful Cardinals game where the entire offense decided to have a meltdown (despite Cam playing flawlessly the first half) and completely atypical game manager-esque Seahawks game--which heavily skews his passing yards with this few games--Cam is at the top.  You could also make an argument for Luck.

Andy Dalton and Ryan Tannehill should be included in these discussions.

Damn these mother fugers fumble a lot.  Either that or Cam has remarkably good ball security, especially considering he runs a good deal.

You would think Cam is closer to Gabbert than to Luck.

All last week we hear Cam needs to be replaced or demoted because he had a bad game.

Take the fumbles and Ints into account and he has less then all of them outside of Luck.

Yup!

Many media and fans treat Cam very unfair (duh).

When he plays great, you don't hear a peep. It's as if it didn't happen. Crickets!

However, when he has one bad game (as 2 weeks ago, though he hasn't had a bad game in a long time), it's all over the news and web about sitting or replacing him. This is despite the fact Robert Griffin is playing awfully (and deserves to be sit since last playoffs), and Kaep is so bad now, he's gone to the game manager role that Alex Smith had, and their still winning despite him (certainly not because of).

I guess some are so fortunate to play for good teams or coaches, as well as not having people "have it in for them" for what ever reason.

And of course, the OP's stats, don't take into account the amount of responsibility Cam carries vs QB's such as Wilson, RG3 and Kaepernick, who rely heavily on run games, and/or a barrage of gimmicks practically every play (Wash). And of course RG3's per game yards are boosted by some serious Garbage time. Griffins should come down, while Cam's will most likely go up, as he clicks/connects more with Ginn and Smith in the offense.

By NFL QB rating, the order is as follows:

Russell Wilson (92.6, 10th in the league)
Sam Bradford (90.7, 11th)
Andrew Luck (89.6, 13th)
Cam Newton (89.4, 14th)
Andy Dalton (87.2, 16th)
Ryan Tannehill (85.5, 17th)
Terrelle Pryor (84.8, 18th)
Colin Kaepernick (83.9, 19th)
Robert Griffin III (80.4, 21st)
EJ Manuel (79.4, 24th)
Geno Smith (74.7, 27th)
Mike Glennon (70.2, 30th)

Cam aside, has anybody seen any stories as to how Terrelle Pryor is outplaying both Kap and RG3 this year? Anyone? Anyone? Don't everyone speak up at once...

(And still the weak-minded on this forum will let themselves be led around by the ESPN/NFLN/FOX/etc. football "experts" about their own QB. As for most human beings, since those "experts" are saying exactly what they want to hear and fits their pre-conceived notions, they inevitably take it and run with it.)

Hey! Everybody's entitled to their opinion. That's why it's a forum. Needless to say, sometimes you gotta wonder if many of those "fans/huddlers" you're calling out are real (or intelligent) football fans, or maybe they just don't like Cam to begin with? Nonetheless (if they aren't), they pretend to "want/wish Cam the best" for cover? One of those two are the only explanations.

I guess they may not watch much of other NFL games, as another explanation? But that would qualify as lack of intelligence (speaking demonstratively, or starting whisper threads about something/someone you don't know) when you think about it?

It just makes no sense otherwise. Anyone can watch many of these QB's play, and know that they're glad they have Cam on their team instead of one of them (whether cause it's equal or Cam is much better). It doesn't take a Rocket scientist to figure that out (or maybe it does for some). Just watch the Games (for perspective)! All biases aside to your own QB, of course.

For example, that Geno Smith poster/comment the other day, was at the extreme deep end. Smith, had been stinking up the joint with the Jets to the point where many Jets fans were saying "Bring Back Sanchez". I bet some of you didn't know that? OK, so he has one good game, and all of a sudden, 'he's better than Cam'. Meanwhile, Cam can have 7 good-very good-great games in a row (last half of last season), and it's crickets. Then he has his first unmitigated bad game during the the 4th game of the current season, and it's "get rid of the bum".  So unfair/hypocritical/ominous.

I guess we (fans of those teams) should get rid of RG3, Smith, and Kaepernick--the previous few weeks while we're at it, as well, while we're at it??

Why do we need to make an argument for him? He is playing for a very good team but his number sucks because the coaching staff don't thrust in his ability so they don't put the game in his hand like Alex Smith. There no argument or excuses for him.

His numbers don't suck, they're actually the most well-rounded on the list along with Cam.

So right back at you: why single out Luck anyways?  Why not go after RG3 or Kaepernick?  They're the real turds out of that group.

They weren't one of the most controversial draft #1 picks entering the NFL in league history. Cam simply has this slant to him.....made people want to jump on him automatically.

If the Auburn money stuff never existed, I personally believe Cam's media treatment would be a 180.

4 QBs who went to the playoffs last year one went to the superbowl. 4 QBs who came quietly into the league and don't have signature celebrations. That's why they are media darlings.

When Cam gets to the playoffs, the media and this fanbase will be licking his nuts. Until then get used to it.

Well that would be all well and good if I had even said anything about what you just mentioned--which I didn't.  If you reread it in my very first sentence it says: "so more people could see it and maybe appreciate our QB a little more."

I don't give a rat's ass about the media attention (unless it's nonstop negative crap) or what other team's fans think.  All I did was post stats that show Cam isn't doing bad, just getting tired of some of our own fans--or better yet, idiots around here that turn on him at the drop of a hat then suggest trading him and other stupid poo.
