Jon Beason impresses in Giants debut

I hear you, Jon.

Even with a possible 5th or 6th pick, I am calling it now: The Giants got the better of that deal.

WHY? Unless Kuechly gets hurt, he wasn't going to start here ever.  And he isn't a great Will linebacker.  So why not let him go to the Giants so he can play in the middle and be effective.  He was really excess here and a backup.

How do the Panthers come out on the losing side?  Beason would probably never start for the Panthers again.  He can't play the middle here and sucks at OLB.  Anything they can get for a player who will never play for you again is a positive.

Depends on the compensation, which we have absolutely no indication yet of exactly what that may be. Regardless, we blindly signed him to a huge contract coming off a serious injury and it backfired. We were on the losing side before this trade, and probably still will be.

I really hope it goes up to a 3rd round pick because he is worth that.

I didn't say that it's not a good situation, especially for Beason. I just said that they are going to get the better end of the deal (especially knowing our FO's history), not that it was an awful deal for us.

If the Panthers want to pay me $12MM over the next two years to make workout tapes, I promise I will never say a single bad thing about them. The second they trade me I'd have a press conference speech prepared that went something along the lines of:

"First off, I'd like to thank the Panthers organization from the bottom of my heart. They stuck by me during my seemingly never-ending attempt to recover from numerous injuries, and unfortunately when it looked like I might not be back, they opted to go in another direction. They tried to get me on the field by moving around some pieces, and when it was abundantly clear that I have no business being an outside linebacker, they moved me to another team for peanuts, once again for no other reason than to do me a solid based on our history, since we all know the 5th or 6th or 7th round pick they get for me won't amount to poo anyway. Any misdirected anger I have toward them for not moving me back to the middle after two years of robbing them of millions, I will keep to myself because my checks I'm cashing each week still have a Panthers logo in the corner. Thanks again Panthers."

Post of the year candidate.

I think Beason is using his slight butthurted-ness (losing his job from an injury to rookie) as motivation. I think you're right, he's taking some subtle jabs at us, but I think he's using whatever perceived slights as a motivational tool.

I think that Beason keep it quiet to the public and media about wanting to start at MLB and probably asked for a trade. Beason has always keep it classy, I'm glad that we did...

Let's not exaggerate because he had one good game. I wish Jon the best, but it was time for Jon and the Panthers to move on. Very very few come back from microfracture surgery.

Our FO has no history.

It was rebooted this past offseason.

What history?  Gettleman has been here less than a year.

Did I say that? Beason was one of your better players. I remembered when he went down.

Also, just to correct your cheap shot, I actually pay more attention to this team than it seems some of you do. I look at the team as a whole, instead of in part. Maybe that is why in the minds of some of you, I sound like I'm always defending Cam. But that is okay, I have seen enough from the comments on the Huddle, that tells me the mindset that I am dealing with. :)

ppfffff..... you take into consideration the WHOLE team? like how you blame everyone around cam..

Jon Beason spent the most time out of any of our overpaid players off the field

If he felt like he was mistreated well, their patience is even shorter in NY so I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked him to the curb once they got better linebackers in about two years

exactly what i was thinking.. only a matter of time.. his flaws will show
