Rivera- "Stewart to practice... Could play Thursday"

Ron Rivera stated Jonathon Stewart will practice this week and if he feels good, he is likely to play on Thursday vs. Tampa Bay. Is he really needed to help our team with DeAngelo playing so well? How will they split the touches?

Cool. it's been so long since J-Stew has played I've sort of forgot what he is capable of. Lets just hope he doesn't come back a shell of himself (Beason)

people ask these questions as if 2008-2012 never happened.

Yes Deangelo needs holes and space to be effective. He isn't a bruiser. Stewart is also a better receiver out of the backfield. I thought Barner would have some type of impact but hey neither has Hixon or Edwards

Unfortunately I think this will affect Tolbert's playing time or at least his carries.  Having 3 weapons in the backfield is nice but I do think it is hard to use all 3 very effectively.

Call me crazy but Jstew has little to no trade value right now. Maybe it's time to showcase his talents for a trade or to see if he's still got it to trade Dlow. Just my opinion since there's no way they can all split carries.

 with DeAngelo playing so well?

Deangelo had less than 3 yards a carry on Sunday.

I wouldn't say that DWILL has been playing well... The majority of his yardage has been in garbage time and has done pretty much nothing in the 1st quarter of games. He doesn't get many yac at all either.

I look for Stewart to carry a bulk of the load in the SF NE MIA stretch and the NO games. I just pray he comes back healthy because he has the potential to be a 3 down back and the future of our backfield if he has the same speed/explosiveness and can stay healthy.

He has had a resurgent year though, he's been very effective .

Are you 100% positive Stewart could not do better?
