He played solid vs 2 of the 3 teams Carolina played that had good defenses. Can't put the blame on Newton.

How did he play solid against seattle or Arizona? Which other team had a "good" defense?

His numbers were decent against Seattle from an efficiency standpoint.

Buffalo has a highly rated defense

You can't call Cam a game manager because we've seen that we often need big monster games from him to win. What your seeing is that we finally have a defense that doesn't require him to account for four touchdowns for him to win

Every game Tom Brady wins isn't four touchdown games but nobody labels him a game manager. This past Sunday Cam actually should have had 3 touchdowns all to Steve Smith. The one Smith dropped he would have walked into the endzone if he held on because the only defender had already fell down. Then on the play that was challenged smitty just needed to stick his arm out and it's a touchdown.

The thing you see with this Panthers team is the lack of playmakers. I'm not talking about guys that can catch the ball. All receivers can catch it's the NFL. I'm talking about guys that can take a 0 yard or 5 and 10 yard passes 60 and 70 yards for scores. Those "elite" qbs have guys that can do that.

Cam is a game manager because all he is ask to do is not screw it up...  throwing the ball 26 and 17 times in two games.

the point is.. carolina does better when cam is asked to do less......not a coincidence...FACT!!!!!!!!!!!

WHO ARE THESE "ELITE " WRs THAT GETS 60-70 YAC?? constantly? periodically?.. cause every wr can do that, you know?

The knock on Cam hasn't been that he is a game manager or that he isn't smart enough or many of the things that people have said on here one way or the other,  The issue has been his consistency.  His athletic ability and strong arm isn't the issue.  His ability to run hasn't been the issue. The issue is whether he can be accurate week in and week out.  Can he make the throws that he has to make against tough defenders and good defenses. Can he drive the team in the last 2 minutes and carry the team on his back. The last 2 weeks he has been very accurate and very good.  Tonight is a big test on a big stage.  If he plays well tonight it will go a long way to convince folks he has turned the corner.  If he struggles or get outplayed by a rookie making his 3rd start, you can expect the criticism to continue.

It is really up to him to dispel the negative press.  He can do that tonight.

there..

Not always hard on him. But people on here act like he is the next best thing. This year all our wins have came against defenses ranked 25th or worse. When Cam faces a good defense he usually loses.

That is bc usually, he gets zero assistance. Tonight Williams will probably have 15 carries for 35 yards or something like that

Then he is forced to pass all game with a poo OL

That is his life against good defenses

Yeah it will be on him tonight and he will need to show that he can handle that.  So far he hasn't.  Blaming the oline can only go so far.  If he has 3-5 sec in the pocket he should be able to make some passes.

True and false.

Cam is at his best when allowed to be Mr. Diversity.

Cam is at his worst when asked to be Mr. Only Passing QB and that is all we bring to the party.

Game managers are and aren't what Cam is asked to be

Cam is indeed responsible for all our losses to good defenses, especially when D-Will fumbled the ball in the red zone of the Seahawks.  I do wish Cam could hold onto the ball for D-Will better.

Team losses, lots of people at fault.  Team wins, lots of reasons why.

Cam's improved, and has looked good even against good defenses, even when the team as a whole hasn't.  But he's not yet at a point where he really can carry the entire offense to look spectacular.  I don't think that is a reason to think we should move away from him...

yeah.. if you want to look at it that way, then dlo did fumbled away that win (or so we think)...

point is.. cam didn't play particularly well in that game neither.. didn't play well enough to win.....

if he would've had a decent outing we wouldn't even been in that position.. most notably, rely on just that one play..

It should be a crime to be this retarded.

So you bitched because we couldn't win with Cam throwing 50 times a game, now you bitch when we win because we actually lean on our $90 million dollar backfield and don't put it all entirely on our quarterback's shoulders? Please just do us a favor and troll elsewhere.
