Blackmon available for trade? EDIT: blackmon suspended for season

Yes please. I would also take Blackmon over Gordon, but both are PROVEN playmakers. The Patriots got Randy Moss for a 4th rounder, Blackmon and Gordon are younger than Moss was for that trade but simply put, reward > risk. Make it happen GMan.

On a side note, how fuging awful is the Jaguars front office?

I get wanting to burn the poo down and start over, but you don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Blackmon is one of the only players worth a poo on that entire team.

Panthers not going to do anything but sit around. I think Gettle would prefer Nicks unfortunately

I'm pretty sure it won't happen, but man it would ignite our offense. Top corners wouldn't be able to cover Smitty, they would have to stay on JB. Man, I wish our team made blockbuster trades......but.....yeah....

you guys are nuckingfutz.  The guys had 2 DUI's and then suspended for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy.  If it looks like a train wreck, it probably is. he may be a good WR but what good is that if hes in the Betty Ford clinic and not on the field

I would be happy with nicks blackmon or gordon. So many top teir wrs on the market. Any of these guys would make us a contender, gman has been signing projects left and right he oviously sees the need at wr. Riverboat ron would roll the dice. Imagine being able to us our first not on a wr but, on a lineman or on the texas tech te.

Are you kidding? There's a very good chance our second round pick is not even in the top 50!!! Who are we gonna get at 50+ better than this guy?!

Nothing but speculation anyway.  I don't think the Jags are dumb enough to trade the only player on their roster worth keeping.

The entire rumor came from former Chiefs GM and Pats VP of player personnel Scott Pioli, who on a TV show said Blackmon "could be moved".

It's all speculation with no reason to believe the Jags are shopping him.

    • Of course, he's so massive he has his own gravitational pull.
    • You miss the point. Taylor was here before. We picked him because of what he could do for our wide receivers not because he had some great knowledge no other person had on the staff. Shula and Rivera and Gettleman studied multiple college systems for months before signing Taylor or drafting McCaffrey or Curtis and would have drafted the same whether Taylor was here or not. They liked the way Taylor developed McCaffrey which showed his talent but Stanford's offense wasn't Taylors idea or unique to him. Shula has a connection to Taylor as early as when Shula was at Alabama.  The debate was whether Taylor was chosen to replace Shula because Shula didn't know what to do to run a college offense and if he screwed up Taylor would replace him. And that Taylor was the reason and most influential in getting McCaffrey. I said it wasn't even close to the truth and this plan predated Taylor and was more thorough and we'll thought out. Everything since then just confirms I was right once again like usual.
