Seahawks fans were bad but they:

1.) Gave us respect after the game because they knew we were the better team and dodged a Week 1 bullet.

2.) At least 1 fan acknowledged that they had a tough game in front of them. The 49ner fans think their team is the 85' Bears the way they talk because they blewout the Jags.

We've done the same to bad teams as well but at least we're honest about it, we aren't talking about going into Candlestick and blowing them out, hell half us think we don't have a good chance to win, but not a single 49ners fan think the Panthers have a chance and feel disrespected to be told different. Sound like a bunch of "fans" that didn't start watching football til a season and a half ago... oh wait.. they are.

Absolutely not true. I don't know where you guys are reading that 49ers fans think this is going to be a walk through, but it's simply not true.

If you're not on the official 49ers messageboard, then you're getting quotes from the 3rd party boards that cuss each other out more than they discuss football.

Plus, let's be honest, EVERY team has homers that say they're going to win by 40 every week. PIcking out some quotes from some 21 year old keyboard jockey that says, "OMGzzz we will kill da Panthers. Niners 50-0 lulz" isn't exactly quoting the most knowledgeable fan.

Let me tell you this, most of the 49er fans on the official board are saying this game will be tough. Most of them think Carolina and SF are pretty similar, and most think we could very easily lose this game. I'm a die hard 49ers fan that watches every snap from preseason on and has since I could walk and I'm telling you this game has me worried. I think we can win, but I think we can lose. I posted all of the reasons on another post, so I won't do that here, but just let me say this: don't pay attention to the idiots saying we're guaranteed a win. Half of them don't know the difference between a strong safety and a free safety, and most of them watch nothing but 49ers games.

Just let me put it to rest: the 49ers AND their fans KNOW this is going to be an extremely hard game.

I dont see what the big deal is.  Every message board has idiots that post on it... this one included.

Already seeing some classy (honest, not sarcastic) 49ers fans hanging around, which is more than i can say for most teams.

I don't blame them for thinking they're going to win.  They're one of the best teams in the NFL and are coming off a Superbowl... so they've also got a ton of crazy bandwagoners that think they're going to blow every team out...

I mean, this message board has gone from predicting we'll get blown out by the Giants to predicting we're going to go 13-3.  Winning breeds confidence, often way over the top confidence. :P

Did no one read the grant land article. Every team in the Super Bowl era that has won four games in a row by a margin of more than 20 points and scored more than 30 in those victories have gone to the playoffs and only two didn't make it to the Super Bowl.

Two teams have done that this year, the Panthers, and the Broncos. There's your Super Bowl folks.

You're right about the schemes. Both teams ask their LBs to do completely different things. Like I said, its hard to say because you guys are really good too, but I am obviously a little biased

as fans I think we all are.

Not talking smack here, but has your team played a team with a defense the likes of the Panthers defense?

Also Arizona and stomped them. They got a couple cheap scores late but we waxed them, and they stomped you guys. It goes both ways.

Arizona isn't top 10 in yards or points. Only Seattle and you got stomped

And we were up on AZ after the first half despite dropping an open TD pass on a drive and a 4th down in the red zone on another ....we imploded late and the score snowballed at the end.

So the question was if you have played a comparable D.... Answer is only Seattle. AZ isn't
