A WHOLE PIE!

Star was on the Panthers radio show tonight. He drew a big crowd and managed to sign for everyone. His wife, children, and brother were there as well. Star said he loves Charlotte, everyone has been polite to him and helped him adjust.

He said the biggest adjustment for him in the NFL has been learning to penetrate (giggity). In college he played with a wide stance and occupied blockers at the line of scrimmage. Here in Carolina he is expected to burst off the line and compress the pocket.

He said it's nice playing with guys like Hardy and CJ because they demand all the game planning from opponents which is a relief for him as a rookie. He says KK is tied to his hip. Whenever KK gets in trouble he gets yelled at (by coach Washington) and whenever he messes up KK gets yelled at too.

He says the rookies are a tight knit group and he's glad the team is winning to keep the veterans happy. He says when the Veterans are happy, everyone is happy.

They asked him about his wife and he said he just asked her to marry him, nothing fancy, he's not romantic.

He talked about all the stuff that came out at draft time, he spent a year out of football, started focusing on football when he became a family man. He doesn't party, just comes home and plays video games.

One of his favorite guys to learn from is Haloti Ngata.

He comes off as a nice guy. Pretty quiet. He was very polite to the fans, thanked everyone.

I can't think of anyone in the league right now I'd rather him learn from.

Ngata mentored him at Utah in the offseasons.

Nice! Didn't know that. I'm guessing it's the Tongan thing. Ngata was an Oregon guy.

Yeah it's a Tongan thing is probably the best way to put it. There was a connection there with some names I can't pronounce.

The opening chat with Rivera is hilarious, because when Ron talks about going for it on 4th the crowd breaks into applause.

Star has a ton of potential. Once he depends technique, he could be the most dominant DT in the league. He's already third overall as a rookie.

Looking forward to Short developing into a pass rushing machine too. His first step, hands and ability to penetrate the backfield makes me drool.
