Agreed, its always tougher for a QB when you don't HAVE to blitz. That leaves 7 in coverage and that is something I believe kaep may struggle with. Only rushing 4 also allows you to have a spy (like you said) without forfeiting much (if any) in coverage. And yes, a major key is fresh lineman......and no fua.

I have a feeling we will see a lot of the defensive ends also dropping off into zones. The thing is, we have got to stop the run so we don't fall into the lull of bringing 8 in the back. As soon as we do that the option opens up as well as the stretch runs to the right side.

It's a combination of having major injuries at the WR position and not having to pass because we've been up so early on teams.

Ah yes, the rock solid "we're only last because we don't have to be better" arguement....

Can you imagine the headlines if Cam was throwing for the least amount of yards in the league? The national media would be piling on and kicking him in the ribs.

You guys have Boldin and Vernon Davis (both pro-bowl level receiving targets). No excuses.

If Cam was playing like Kaep there would be updates every fifteen minutes on ESPN about him when will he get benched.

Gore is a great runner, but the panthers should be up to the task seeing as how they have the kind of front seven built to stop that.

The real threat is Kaepernick. He's more dynamic than EJ and can extend plays like Wilson does. He may not have Wilson's precision (or luck), but that means he'll just as soon tuck it and run for the first down, which will frustrate defenses

We're gonna do Kaepernick like he's doing this turtle...

Why is Kaepernick posing with Joan Rivers?

the keys to besting their offense is taking gore out if the equation. shut down the run, put them in an early hole, and keep their offense off the field, and give them a long field every possession will all make that happen.

you put them in a  situation where kaep is forced to throw early and often into a crowd of 7 defenders and make him start from around his 20 and we'll pretty much stall their offense...and these are things that are quite possible, even away.

Not sure about that. TD is much better in coverage than Luke. I want TD on Vernon Davis.

I stand corrected

No excuse needed. We are 6-2 with the 32nd ranked pass offense. Do the math lol.

We obviously haven't needed to pass. Kap has proved numerous times that he can pass the ball effectively.

But whatever makes yall feel better!

The niners have had a fluff schedule just like the Panthers. Although, the Panthers did play much better against the Seahawks.

The Seahawks are the best team we have played, and we should've won that game.

The Seahawks and niners are both EXTREMELY overrated, but the Seahawks are the better team.

The niners better pray we fumble on the goal line like we did vs Seattle because we are about to come in there and upper cut them in the fuggin mouth.

Not to harp on the week 1 game, but...

That fumble came with 5:25 left in the 4th quarter. We took the ball and ran it to the Carolina 25 yd line where we took a couple of knees. Game over. And your defense HAD to stop us on that drive, so it's not like they were letting up or playing prevent.

But let's assume you didn't fumble, and you went in for the touchdown. Let's even assume, you get the 2-pt conversion to go up 17-14.

Exactly what makes you think you would have stopped our offense on the ensuing drive? (which would have ended up tying or, more likely, winning the game).

The Seahawks outgained the Panthers 370 to 253 yards, won the turnover battle, and won time of posession. We dominated you in the 2nd half. Tell me again why Carolina SHOULD have won that game?
