Well unlike Cam, your asking for games won when Brees had a bad performance, that is like 1 or 2 games as opposed to half of Cams games. You can say he played below his average 2 games, against Bucs week 2 which still has the #3 defense and had 2 interceptions in that game off Brees, and Pats game that should have been a win if refs call the game correctly,

If you want to look at common opponents, Palmer had 7 points on first drive of game and 0 points the rest of game and two 3rd down conversions the rest of game. How did that super defense do against that same Cardinals team?

How about the Buffalo team we faced under the much better QB Thad Lewis who had never scored less than 20 points all season? Held them to 17 with 7 coming in garbage time. How did the vaunted Panthers D do against this same Buffalo team?

Looking at common opponents, were they in the same venues?

If he isn't making threads, people are making threads about him. May as well put his name on this sub forum.

I'm really not understanding how cam didn't play well. Yeah he didn't play great. He missed some big throws and had an interception but he came through when we needed him at the end. There were too many dropped passes of balls he put on the money. He won the type of game good NFL QBs win. He showed a lot of growth and maturity in this game. You really can't say he didn't play well. Especially against a really good defense with a weak oline

alice doesnt watch football, he looks at the stats after or reads some nerds article about stats, which is relevant for people who never played a sport in their life.  we know why the numbers weren't great, but we also know Cam came thru when needed and that will be good enough to win this division.

The common opponents I mentioned were teams we both faced this year within weeks of each other! What does a 2011 Alex Smith team have to do with the 2013 Team ranked 32nd in passing led by Kaep ?

But since you asked, 49ers got first week bye thanks to conference record tiebreaker being higher than SOV or SOS, so even though we beat harder teams by much much bigger wins, they got to sit home and plan for Saints two weeks while a Saints had to have a track meet with Lions, lose a day of practice to fly across US to the Stick. Then PT gets knocked out of game on first drive leaving us one healthy RB. They forced 4-5 turnovers. Yet with all those turnovers, Saints were leading with less than a minute left scoring 32 points on the 2nd ranked defense that was allowing 14.3 points on average. Harper got matched up on Davis and got beat, why we fired GW, should have never left Harper in single coverage on their #1 target.

If not for tiebreaker, pretty sure Saints win at home, Saints playing Lions and losing a practice day traveling was a huge difference. 49ers the following week against Giants were not the same well rested team we faced, giants should thank us for win.
