they wouldnt come here if we were the best team in the league we arent a big market marquee destination where people dream of living like miami ny la

Thanks for the answer that I already knew.

Some fans just dont get it. Other than the big name players, there's no other free agent that is good enough to come in and help turn this franchise around.

We need damn draft picks.

It looks like we are going to make the playoffs, if Detroit goes on a slide we may only have the late first from Portland..

I don't want to either but it looks like MJ is still an idiot.

I've only read through this thread here and there, but was wondering what people thought about NBADraft.net mocking Doug McDermott to us at 15:

http://www.nbadraft.net/2014mock_draft

Of course, draft positions are subject to change, but is this the pick we need to make if these are our options? I know Chuck would prefer Vonleh most likely, but let's say he's gone, too. I've only watched McDermott play a few times over the years. Here's their breakdown:

Strengths: Excellent shooter, particularly for his size. Had percentages of 60-49-80 last season ... Has a nice arsenal of post moves. Gets a lot of unorthodox buckets around the rim ... His offensive versatility makes him a matchup problem, as he can post up on the average small forward, but he can drag a power forward outside with his shooting ability ... Plays well off the ball. Gets a lot of open looks for himself from beyond the arc ... A true coach's son, McDermott has a high basketball IQ ... Good rebounder, especially for his size. Averaged 8.2 RPG last season ... Incredibly efficient overall player. Averaged 22.9 PPG last year on only 14.6 shots, and averaged 1.6 points per shot attempt ... Has a large frame which helps him gain position against smaller defenders ... Usually was able to maintain his elite level of production against high-quality opponents ... Extremely smooth shot release ... Potential to be a speciality shooter gives him added intrigue ...

Weaknesses: He creates matchup problems on offense, but he is the matchup problem on defense, as he is a tweener who is too short and lacking in strength to guard the 4, but lacks the lateral quickness to guard 3's ... Has played a lot more 4 than 3 through his college career, will need to transition to playing much more on the perimeter ... Struggles to create his own shot on the perimeter. Ballhandling ability is subpar ... His inside scoring ability is severely limited when he goes up against NBA-sized big men ... Has a relatively big frame, but desperately needs to add muscle in order to utilize his post game ... Slow on closeouts due to his lack of foot speed ... Physical limitations are concerning ...

The Knicks are on our heels again in the standings but the Pistons and Cavs are good for nothing and are starting to lose now that we are.

there's no reason those 2 teams should be losing more than us they have much more talent... im going to say they are losing off of poor coaching because both of those teams have talent

Talk about total disaster for this franchise. A loaded draft and we walk away with only Portland's late 1st. If we tanked we could end up with possibly 3 picks with 2 in the lottery. Such a wasted opportunity by MJ/Cho. Rebranding next year and having the chance to have some highly regarded players coming in would have been a gold mine. Instead we want to win??? Win what?

I'm not sure I believe those reports, MJ may be saying that he wants to win this year but I am sure he is thinking differently or at least I hope so.

As of right now 11 teams have worse records than the Cats. Someone better hit the tank button or its going to be to late. Trade every possible player of value for draft picks and young projects. Problem is so many GMs know this is the ultimate tank draft not many teams want to trade to get better. If we hit on 1 or 2 guys in this upcoming draft out fortunes change dramatically.

It is never too late to tank, Boston looked good earlier in the year and now has lost 18 out 21.
