Not only has that zinger been used for every Saints milestone (ever) up to this point, it was actually already administered, in this thread, just two short posts above yours.

Why do you guys insist with the superiority angle? It's getting a little unwieldy what with the drying reservoir of obscure caveats you're reduced to using for a proper smack substitute. You'd probably do better talking about what's going on right now, because the past really ain't on your side. Just trying to help :(

Because this is the smack forum, Nancy!

Maybe someday you guys will also tick off some of the lesser checkboxes you've skipped on the way to greatness. Like "consecutive winning seasons"  for example. Then again maybe that backs you unfairly in the corner with such a small sample size to work with. Maybe we can revisit this discussion 30 years later, I'm sure it'll be raining championships sometime between then and (any day) now.

That would mean we would have at least 3 more consecutive non-shitty seasons, maybe four if we somehow run the table this year.. Can your fragile psyche truly handle even more sustained success for the Saints? Think this one through, man.

um, no.  saints started their "sustained" post season success with 4 consecutive losses in the post season.   they didn't even win a playoff game until the year 2000.

the only thing the stains have suSTAINed is a history and heritage of being perennial basement dwellers.  you'd know that if you had been a fan of them before 2009

Guess we should just use that Saints roadmap for consistently....consistently being the nfl laughing stock for the first 30 years of their existence.

when we lose, we do cool poo like losing 15 coin flips straight

when the saints lose, they really poo the bed and go 30 years without a winning season

First 20, you mean. They've been pretty alright since '87, all things considered. Which brings me to why you guys and your obviously wikipedia'd history burns never quite hit the mark: I lived through this stuff, guys. I already tasted the bitter disappointments firsthand, what possible harm do you think lobbing copypasta at me is going to yield?

And while I get having pride in what your team has accomplished in a relatively short period (let's not forget the benefits of birthing a franchise after the FA era had begun) it smacks of disingenuity to keep harping on our first 20 years when your first 20 isn't even on the books quite yet. Get you some history first, kids.

saints fans can never decide whether history matters or not

either way, we have 6 playoff wins even though we don't have our first 20 years in the books, and you guys have 7 which is fuging hilariously pathetic
