PFF: Star is the best run stopping DT in the league

Recommended Posts

Seriously though, has a team ever had 3 consecutive rookies of the year in any category? That's some built-to-last type poo right there. This team is trending up for the next 5-7 years, maybe longer. Enjoy this ride, Panther bros and gals.

We have one hell of a scouting dept, that's for sure.

Newton

Kuechly

Lotulelei

Hits on the 1st round three straight years

That's insane

I do think it's possible. Alonzo in Buffalo is the only competition and we're certainly getting more press than the Bills.

To get this freak at #14 was divine intervention. Keep pounding.

Yup, Jets among many others have to be kicking themselves right now.

Sheldon Richardson has been great for the Jets.

But nothing compared to Star.

Not according to PFF:

1. Sheldon Richardson, DE, Jets: +25.0

This was a week where he took advantage of others slipping even as the Jets got thumped by the Dolphins. We say it every week that the team might like a little more pressure from him, but his work in the run game (which peaked this week) has been so good he’s the stand out rookie.

Nice to see both Star (5) and Kawaan (10) in the Top 10 though.

There's going to be a ton of pressure on whoever we draft first in 2014. It will be tough to find the Rookie of the Year with the 32nd pick though, so I hope people don't get too down on this guy TBD.

I say divine intervention because exactly one year ago I wanted Star so bad but thought we must lose out, and even then it was not likely given that he was #1 in many mocks. Four wins later, there's simply no logical way we get the best player at a position of need at #14! I am numb with happiness as to how it all worked out.
