MKG has a broken left hand

16 posts in this topic

It was announced during the game.

Bobcats lead Dallas by 3 late in the 4th quarter....

Edit: Wanted to add official sources.

Indication is MKG broke his hand driving to the rim in the third quarter. About six minutes into the second half.

#bobcats say MKG's fractured left hand will be re-evaluated tomorrow in Charlotte. I don't know when he was hurt.

Edit:  It's confirmed that he will miss between 4-6 weeks, so he'll be back sometime in early to mid January.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist became the latest former Kentucky star to be sidelined four to six weeks with a broken left hand.

The Bobcats announced Wednesday that Kidd-Gilchrist, the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NBA draft, suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his left hand during Tuesday night's game at Dallas.

Yep, changes the complexion of the starting lineup a bunch. Especially defensively.

as for the game...

Bobcats loose a 12 point lead over the last two quarters and now trail by 5 with roughly 1 minute left in the game.

I feel like we would have won if MKG was out there last night.

Sucks. Hopefully he'll come back aggressive and try to prove something. This offense is killing his future, IMO. He's not that bad of an offensive player but Clifford is telling him to just stand in the corner and stay out of the way.

So the next question is..does clifford play a hendo/taylor sg-sf combo or more gordon/hendo?  Regardless, we'll probably see more Gordon over the next 4-6 weeks.

    • I do think Kpassagnon is an interesting prospect that needs to be in the right situation to thrive. It just so happens that we have one of the best 6'7" defensive ends in the history of the NFL on a reunion tour with us in 2017 and maybe if need be, 2018 if he holds up.   Kpassagnon's attitude and work ethic is strong and tireless. His 3-cone and vert scare me for a defensive end, and that's not something you can teach. Being able to bend and explode off the snap to beat OL is not something that Peppers can show him, but maybe Peppers can show how to use athleticism to his advantage.  I can see him being just another Michael Johnson/Erik Armstead player or I could also see the environment here in Carolina benefiting him and he becomes a Carlos Dunlap kind of lanky DE that causes headaches along our DL. Kpassagnon's spider web looks amazing and awful all at the same time. I'd take him in this draft, but "where" is the big question.
