Go check out the free Pro-Am vid of the recruits coming next year on IC. The Heels may not miss a beat.

They look good, but it is really hard to tell how they will be when they step foot against National Competition.......I really think if Drew doesn't start strong, you could see Strickland taking some of his time this season. kid is pretty fast and could develop nicely at the PG position. Also, he seems to have a lot of chemistry with that group.

I agree with that...But I think what is promising is A) the obvious level of athleticism and B) the ability to knock down perimeter shots. The rest is just details and coaching.

They all seem to run the floor pretty well, at least.

They will miss a beat...don't fall into that trap of depending on freshmen.

Hard to say...If Drew is OK, and he may very well be, they will still be very good. They will have lapses that this past team didn't but overall they will be tough. Of course, this could be a better defensive team than this year.

The ProAm is not a good way to judge how good a player is going to be. I went to watch in person the other night and some of the best players out there failed to get involved at all and were getting schooled by guys that weren't even scholarship basketball players. It is a completely different game than something that is structured.

Agreed on ProAm

But I see Roy changing up the offense a little this season

Last season Ellingtons & Lawsons outside shooting were needed

This season with all the talent and depth inside Roy needs to score inside more

C - Zeller > D Wear
F- Thompson> T Wear
F- Davis > J Henson
G-Ginyard > Strickland
G-Drew > Mc Donald

Graves for situational 3's

Thompson & Davis should carry the team
Drew just needs to controll the tempo and get the ball to the right players .

Roy could and should run the blue team concept
Sub out the starters and give the freshmen 2 minutes at a time to increase experience .
This will pay off big time in tourney

Yes they lost 4 great players

But this team is loaded with talent and if everone gets playing time ,they could GEL late in season

This team will probably win 27+ games this year. If they get into the FF, they have as good a shot as any.

I'm worried about Drew. Im sure he will improve from last year to this year, but it will have to be a big improvement for this to team to go far in the tourny. He reminded me alot of Quentin Thomas last year. Just too timid. It doesn't matter how much talent there is inside, without a capable pg a team will not perform great on offense or defense. IMHO, we will see how spoiled we have been with felton and lawson running the show for the last 6 years after this season. I see Ginyard or one of the frosh being the main ball handler by the end of the year.

Wow...Really? I didn't see Drew that way at all...He started strong, got shaky in the middle, then had a strong showing late - particularly with Lawson out. He only averaged 10 minutes a game behind Lawson (who was pretty good) and played almost every game during the season. Kids usually make the biggest leap from freshman to sophomore year. I suspect he will make a leap.
