Honestly I haven't followed or watched smart any while at OK state. How good is he. Is he a taller Kemba that just scores? Does he pass good and make the team better? What NBA pg would u compare him to? Just curious

Smart is very different from Kemba. Both are shoot first PGs, but the difference is Kemba is more of a two guard. Smart isn't. When I watch Marcus Smart, I see a young Dwade. Just my honest truth. His game is so much like Wade.

Smart is very good setting up screens. He command the offense like a legitimate PG. The biggest difference and what he does very well is grabbing rebounds and having a post game. Smart is a very physical PG who will go after the board and use his body inside. He play like a PF in a PG body, but with PG abilities. There's no knock on his passing game too. He distribute the ball very well.

The real knock on him would be that he still need to work on his jump shot.

I am about to watch it now. Saw the score and how Curry and Kemba played so I am excited. I have been at the hospital for 18 of the last 24 hours with my mom.

Which would make Smart a combo/2-guard. Kemba and Smart are fairly similar aside from build IMO. Both fit the combo guard mold, and both still need to improve shooting mechanics and distributing. I'd say they could complement one another, but at this point they're both most effective with the ball.

Smart's size is certainly an advantage down low, but Kemba's also a really good rebounder for his size and - while he doesn't have a post game (being 5-10 will do that) - his mid range jumper is money. Kemba is quicker with a better handle though, and both are very good defenders.

I like both, so unless Smart's the obvious BPA I think we should look elsewhere. Though it's worth noting that Smart is younger with presumably more room to grow.

Marcus Smart is in the group of Dwade, Harden, Evans, and Oladipo. I can really see Smart making the transition to SG in the future like how Wade did it. I also think that that may benefit his game in the pro much more. The two are not even close in similarities. Their games are so different. I would love to have a Kemba/Smart back court for 2014.
