Kirk Cousins will start for the Redskins this Sunday against the Falcons.

Not only benched, but inactivated *cue RGQB3, RG3rd string quips*

And now there are reports that Shanahan never wanted RG3 in the first place.
This is going to be a full blown Greek tragedy by the time it's over.

Shanahan trying to get fired and collect his $7M. Looking back a couple months ago, I never would have thought that the Redkins would be a bigger FUBAR than Tampa Bay at this point in the year. NFL, you so funny.

If I were GM of a team with a need at QB, then this offseason I'd be tempted to ask the Redskins if they'd take a mid-round pick for Cousins.
But if I'm the Redskins, no way I trade Cousins. I don't trust RG3 to stay healthy.

Snyder is committed to Griffin, so it seems likely Shanahan is gonna be the one who gets bounced.
Seems the NFL Network agrees with you considering they flashed this up on the screen on Monday....

Shanahan hasn't done poo since he had Elway. Griffin was doomed there from the start.

Ok so can the media please stop comparing RG3 and Cam? It's not even close. Cam has never been close to being benched in each of his 3 seasons.

This is Shanny coaching to try to get another job more than what is best for the franchise.

I think it is a mistake. If RG3 is healthy let him take his lumps and learn from his mistakes.
yup. if you can't handle three games at the end of an NFL season because you might get hurt you may as well stop playing football.

The Wasington Post had good piece on this, before the benching was actually confirmed.
This is a Shanahan power play, of course. He didn’t suggest he might sit Griffin for the last three games of the season just because he had a sudden fit of conscience over the kid’s health. It has become a game of show and tell: Shanahan wanted to see if the much-petted quarterback would run to owner Dan Snyder, and if the owner would pacify him. He’s seeking public evidence his authority was undermined. Shanahan seems to be suggesting this is a force that helped destroy his locker room and flip a playoff team into a 3-10 one.
This is turning into the biggest story in the NFL, and I think it's fascinating....and hilarious. The Redskins are the new Cowboys.
