Like others have said, I thought it was a good decision, just a bad playcall. If they didn't wanna run it they should have called a quick slant or screen to Deangelo or something. Not a play that took more than a couple seconds to develop.

Loved the decision.  Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.  Defense was playing well.. and left the Jets offense back on their own 20.  No problems.

Plus: scoring a TD there basically puts the game out of reach. If you don't convert, you can reasonably expect your defense to stop Geno Smith who has looked terrible. The situation seemed right.

Negative: The specifics didn't. Cam was gimpy and the Panthers called a terrible play.

There are arguments for and against I guess.

That's the general argument....but I would counter that the Jets are much less likely to score two touchdowns, or a TD and two FGs.

The risk was not greater than the reward IMO.  The move could have really cost the Panthers but luckily we pulled out the W with a blocked punt and the INT score.

But would you have even made this post if it was successful?

I thought you take the 3 against a team that has struggled to score.

But......

I am not the Riverboat.  I won't argue his decision because he obviously knows his team much better than we do.

I liked it and think it was the right decision but the playcall didn't work out. Cam and Tolbert are a nightmare for any defense in a short yardage situation, even the Jets, really wasn't expecting pass there.

That said, if it had worked out everyone would be singing his praises and it would have been a hell of a dagger.

Probably so, because I think it's a bad move whether we converted or not.

It's always easy to rate a decision when you know the result.

Ron gave trust in his offense, this time, it didn't work out.

was this the series where it was 1st and goal and they threw 4 straight passes and failed? not a single run attempt by cam or tolbert.

I liked it at the time and I'm ok with it still. Not a big fan of the play call, though it would have likely been successful had Cam stepped up just a foot.

Personally, I didn't like it.

It's much easier to get a TD and try for a FG to tie, vs. Get two TD's or a TD and two FG's to tie.

Cam was gimpy, and the middle of that D is very tough to run on.
