I was listening to Pat Kirwin talk about the game this weekend and he said the Panthers don't have to change what they did on offense even though they scored only 13 points. He said our first and second drives lasted for 22 plays combined which meant they weren't stopping us. We stopped ourselves and settled for field goals. On the third drive we run the ball for 15 yards and then start throwing and get stopped. He said we need to run the ball and control the clock and we should be fine.
On defense we have to stop trying so hard to jam the receiver that we don't play good defense afterwards. We need to pressure Brees and keep things in front of us. They are going to score points but you beat them by limiting their opportunities and slowing them down so that they have to earn everything. Take away everything deep and make them throw in front of us and stop the YAC. Make them settle for field goals and we should win the game.
