They were DESPERATE...

The onsides kick was a great play. They made it look easy.

The "fake" punt was confusing and seems like a bad play. I assumed they were trying to draw an offsides. If I recall it was #21 Mike Mitchell in coverage so its not like they caught us in bad coverage.

I hated the onside kick. Yes it worked for them, and had we gotten it, we would have had great field position... My point was that it showed that they feared us and were desperate.

That's a big change from years past... We just witnessed the changing of the Guard in the NFC South.

Or, more likely, they saw our return team backing up too much and took advantage.

I doubt Sean panicked and called a desperation play. Unless this is madden.

but I'm satisfied. Keep Pounding

Lmao... Thanks for that... I saw that novel and shook my head and just scrolled down to see the comments which usually already summarize the key points the OP made.

Right... But of course... This is done every week and is a norm??? I must have missed the memo.

It's one thing to disagree, but let's not get silly

I understand the "us against the word" mindset, but to be fair, there were a lot of people picking the Panthers in this game and we were the favorite in the betting line too.

The Saints let go of some of the desperation late in the game. They got comfortable near the end. That's why they failed to end it by throwing for a first down.

During that last drive, just about everyone in the room was like "Don't let Cam throw it anymore", after the Ginn completion. I was like "fug that, we need to throw throw throw, and go for the win." Never did I imagine that it would be Hixon that comes up with the TD in the end.

That was sweet victory.

I do believe we covered the spread, just!

Merry Christmas! I did see your point though with the scouting. It was valid.

    • I have a weird suspicion we're really interested in Ross to many's dismay.  Last year proved in too many wats how much we need a playmaker and in a major way.  Looking just at in-game skills, Ross is the best playmaker in the draft.  I feel better about him than the board did about Brandin Cooks in his draft.  We need to draft someone clearly ahead of Shepard/Johnson and to be our third in volume receiving option behind Olsen and KB.   I can also see that causing a stir here so it'd be an entertaining summer for inline fandom.
    •   Allen is an intriguing prospect. I just wish I had more faith in his versatility. IMO, we need DE more than another DT. Even if that DT is pretty dang good.   Ross? Really? I love everything about him. Except...those knees, and that shoulder. Small guys with injury problems in college? Not high on my list. But hey, that's just me. We can still get a talented kid who doesn't have injury concerns. Just not at 8.   Now a CB? That tickles my fancy. As much as I would love a Hog Mollie at DE. A top flight CB does not repulse me. But...to me, CB is like WR. We should still be able to get a talented kid, even in the 2nd.   Man. I don't know. Part of me wants that Hog Mollie DE. Part of me wants a kid that can scare a Defense. I just am of the mind that we need Offense more so than Defense. But, Fournette is the only Offensive player worthy of that 8 slot. Wishy washy is my name.   Other than that. Thanks for playing.
