Playcalling wll garner most of the bashing (and it should get it's fair share), however Cam is missing some throws due to mechanics and also due to the O-Line being pushed into his lap.

There were a couple times yesterday, where Cam had Olsen open and didn't deliver the ball on time.  On the pick to Hixon, he also made the wrong hot read (tolbert was wide open in the flat for about 15 yards and the first down).

The good news is that Cam is not turning the ball over at an alarming rate, which is keeping us in ball games and winning them with defense and clutch throws by Cam and catches by his receivers.  If Cam has a 3+ turnover game (similar to the red rifle yesterday), we are fugged.

Also, we need to at least start throwing two bombs a game to ginn (even if it is an overthrow or an interception that is essentially a punt).

Ginn needs to be turned loose and at least make the other team think about getting the safety out of the box.

Also, Newton has said when he gets involved with his legs early it helps him get into a rhythm. That's was noticeable on the TD drive before half.

Why is Shula waiting until almost half time to do this. Cam's best with his legs when the play breaks down. This may sound dumb but they need some designed drop back plays where Cam takes off when it looks like its a normal passing play.

Just heard a stat on WFNZ. No team has ever won the Super Bowl with an offense ranked below 24th in the league. We are 26th.

The offense scoring 14 points against the 27th ranked defense in the league who was also missing key defensive starters is an awfully bad omen.

Deangelo running for 3.3 yards per carry against the leagues 31st ranked rushing defense is pretty bad.

For a ground based methodical offense to lose the time of possession battle by nearly 10 minutes is scary.

If not for Cam's legs and ability to make clutch plays this offense would be absolutely horrendous.

Top issues with the offense in no particular order:

- Lafell's inconsistency

- Byron Bell (self explanatory)

- Lack of sharp, quick passing plays and hot routes.

Our offense is the results of so-so ingredients being given to a middling chef.

The biggest errors Shula seems to make are on 2nd down. If we're down, he's going to call a long pass play, regardless of down and distance. When we're up he's going to call a running play, regardless of down and distance.

For all the complaints about Cam on 3rd downs lately, he actually does fairly well when the offense throws a short pass on 2nd down to make it 3rd and manageable. Also, drives tend to go a little longer when we go for the first on 2nd and short rather than try a "surprise" long pass off play action (Dear Mike, perhaps the fact the CB and S are always step for step with the WR shows they may have been expecting that).

That deep ball that landed between Ginn and LaFell was concerning to me. Neither seemed to want to go and get it.

It's no secret Ginn doesn't like contact, it seemed pretty obvious on that play. The ball hung up for awhile I would have like to see one of them atleast try and make a play on it.

the offense has sucked all year if you think about it (statistically) they just have made the plays when they have to . we win with defense... which is fine by me

People are going to be pining about this the week of the superbowl. We are winning games, our defense is holding teams and our offense is being clutch, nothing is going to change.

Cam will put more weight on his pivot foot during the offseason but that takes reps and time that we don't have, meanwhile we are winning games. I am not concerned in the least, our O rises to the occasion and our defense makes the stand

It has become an area of concern and play selling does deserve a load of the blame. We've played away from our strengths and it's killed us. Shula's late game she'll he's been retreating into has almost been costly and the Riverboat needs to step in and tell him how we do things now.

It's predictable, stubborn play calling. There are other areas that need to be addressed personnel wise obviously.

Our O is just bad. You can't tell me that pro coaches don't see it. The bye can always be a blessing or a curse. They have to figure something out and I think it starts with the OLine. Cam looks horrible when he rushes his mechanics.

Nine in the box.

Atlanta had 8 and 7 in the box on many plays that didn't work yesterday.

If Cam was throwing screens that we're getting blown up at the line of scrimmage and slants for incompletions and pics, everyone would be screaming for Shula to call run plays and deep balls.

With the right side if our O line being a turnstile and Ginn and Lafell catching like they are wearing boxing gloves covered with cocoa butter and Cam throwing high....I think anyone calling the game would have difficulty.
Thank God Cam has running ability and throws lasers when it matters most.
