My last words on the Hixon catch.  It was nothing against Cam, he had already been forced to step up to elude the blitz and was under pressure and couldn't step up in the pocket.  He threw a pretty good pass under the circumstances.  But it wasn't a great pass  or only where it could have been.  Look at this video and watch Hixon out of the break and see how far behind the defender is and then how Hixon has to dive down to get the ball which is losing altitude quickly.  Now imagine a pass that hits Hixon in stride waist high and tell me which would be better. That defender was not going to get there before the ball did. And it didn't need to be thrown so short.  Look at the separation coming out of the break. Hixon has 2 steps on the defender as Cam is throwing the ball.

I didn't say that Hixon bailed out Cam to criticize Cam but to actually acknowledge how great that catch was given the pressure. And that pressure extends to Cam as well.  He had already made a good play eluding the rush and stepping up while still looking for a receiver instead of running.  And the throw to Hixon got there so that in itself qualifies as a great play.  I don't think Cam could get everything he wanted on that throw but given the circumstances I think he did outstanding and couldn't be expected to do more.  It worked.  But I still think it was Hixon who made that play and that pass look great.

Hixon has clearly beat his man who is reaching out while still looking in the backfield clearly a sign that he just went oh crap.

My point was that this was a better catch than it was a throw but Cam did fantastic under the circumstances.   Why can't these points exist simultaneously and harmoniously.

So why go obsessive over a small point which is what I accused others of doing?  This whole issue is ridiculous.  I just want folks to know that my opinions are based on what I see and read and not led by some emotional agenda. Disagree if you wish, in fact I encourage it. Just stop with the hater BS.  It couldn't be further from the truth. I just have the objectivity to see things as they are which is a work in progress and comment about what I see while still feeling very proud and excited to be included in the journey.  I don't think that you have to be a hater or hugger, most all of us are in the middle somewhere.  Do I know who a hugger is?  Very well  actually, given I was the unofficial president of the BDJS for a few years on here.  BDJS-Blind Delhomme Jock Sniffers

I confess it was true.  So I get it when folks feel the same way about Cam.  I just don't get the angry emotional diatribes and calling out people.  That is usually reserved for the Smack Forum.

Thank you for a positive contribution.

However, it was never really [all] about Cam. It was more about the team around him, and us addressing the contention that the Panther receivers were or were not mediocre; did they ever or regularly "bail out" Newton (including the end of the New Orleans game), and do other QB's in the NFL throw high or off target as Newton?

Fair is Fair.

Receivers being mediocre, Cam throwing high, Cam being regularly bailed out sounds like your agenda not what I was discussing.  Why include me in all of that.  I was referring to one pass where Cam did a great job eluding the rush and with the game on the line threw a good pass to Hixon.  So if you don't  like  the word bailed out then substitute Hixon completed a fantastic play after not demonstrating the ability to even see the field all year.  My opinion that the throw could have been much easier wasn't designed as a criticism of Cam so much as an explanation for why I thought Hixon made that play and that the pass wasn't in the only place it could have been thrown. It could have been thrown higher and Hixon would have been wide open. It might appear to you as a criticism just an explanation. When I saw Hixon make that catch and it was upheld I was ecstatic and stunned really.  I did know he had it in him. My first thought when I came to my senses was I couldn't believe he caught that.

I wondered why you couldn't acknowledge that both Ginn and Hixon had made fantastic plays and just realized from the above that it went against your agenda that the receivers are average at best and that Cam hasn't been given any weapons.  I get it now, I have to filter your posts with your agenda instead of looking for objectivity.

So on the first page of the Dolphins board, there are 3 threads related to Tannehill. 2 are defending him/ preaching patience and 1 is stating that he is average.

Meanwhile, on the Panthers board we have posters critiquing how Cam "didn't throw a great pass" to win the game against the Saints. A game without Cam's leading WR, a throw that sent the Panthers to the playoffs, a throw that made it possible for the Panthers to secure a 2 seed.

Yep. No bias there.

I'm not worried about our offense. Cam did more with less in his 1st two years and we have gone from pass happy to run.

Were in the playoffs and we are getting Steve smith back

Both cam and Steve ball out in big games and now we have more weapons.

I have a very calm feeling that we will be just fine.

Yawn.  And I thought you were making some progress (feigned or not).

However, you're apparently still clueless, playing games, and/or pushing YOUR OWN AGENDA. Let's just politely "call it a day". You'll never get it, or acknowledge getting it. And that's kool with me. SMH

Enjoy the games today (if you're going to even watch, and based off what we read here, you absolutely should).

Not too concerned.  Extra week to work on our mistakes without focusing on another team.  Then next week we start the focus on the next most important game, the next one.  KEEP POUNDING!!!

Even worst is how proud and arrogant they are of their behavior.

They not only make it easy for others to jump right in and join the Cam scrutiny-fest, but they will spend endless postings defending and praising another QBs who are clearly working with way more weapons than Cam and give them such an easy pass for their own weaknesses.

I am just getting a chance to read this entire thread.

There are a few Cam haters in here, far too many Cam huggers, and a lot of level headed folks talking about a real issue, the decline of the Panthers Offense.

There are some major issues that have been here all year.  Right side of the line, ineffective RB's, lack of talent at the WR, bad playcalling, and less than stellar Quarterback play.

Hopefully the O can get their heads out of their asses and help out this D.

I promise you this, we will not make it out of the divisional round with the O playing this poorly.

Sure didn't see this coming.....
