I do not consider myself a liar or a chump. My priorities in life may just be different then yours.I desire neither wealth nor notoriety so I would personally wait until I had fulfilled my commitments before I started making other plans.

Welcome to spending life in neutral then.

Not true.  The only day an assistant can be interviewed for a HC job (of the teams with the first round bye) is on Sunday.  The NFL sets limits so you will not see interviews again until the week of the Pro Bowl.  So Sean or any other assistant will not be giving a bunch of interviews during the playoffs.

That is not to say that multiple teams can't request the one shot interview during this peiod. Teams can also request permission to do so during the first week of Super Bowl preparations as long as there is a two-week break between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.

(" Teams may not interview assistants from another team for either a lateral move or a head coaching opportunity during the season. The lone exception to this rule comes when teams want to interview assistants for head coaching jobs while the current team is in the playoffs. As there is an urgency to hire new head coaches for some non-playoff teams, the NFL does allow teams to request permission to interview a postseason participant's assistants during the wild card week for teams who have the bye that week. They can also request permission to do so during the first week of Super Bowl preparations as long as there is a two-week break between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. The team only has one chance to talk to the assistant coach, once permission is granted, before the coach's team is eliminated from the playoffs.. ")

Lol @ the outrage in this thread. Good lord.

Seriously :(

This is what happens to successful teams, people. Here's hoping it's something we get used to.

Can't we just be happy for the guy?

Agreed. The Redskins are a terrible organization. I'd like to see him go somewhere better.

(also preferably in the AFC)

Another poster has a point. Why aren't players allowed to agree to terms or talk to other teams right now, but coaches are?

I don't consider making a nice living and being happy/satisfied with life "as living life in neutral". Not everyone wants or desires the limelight and Beamer.

Timing.

The way it used to be, coaches for successful teams got screwed because while they were still coaching in the playoffs, other guys (with lesser success) were getting hired.

The League started allowing bye week interviews specifically to correct that problem.

Those teams were dumb then for hiring someone so soon if they wanted someone from a team that's in the playoffs. I think the league should make teams wait till the playoffs are over. And yes I do see it as a little disrespectful to be doing interviews while your team is still in the playoffs.

McD isnt getting the job.

Point blank, Washington needs an offensive minded HC to work with RG3, not a defensive minded one.
