There are too many teams tanking hard to get in the top 5. I'm just tired of being all around terrible. And I think we should be finding the diamonds in the rough like San Antonio and Indiana instead of deliberately ruining this franchise and fan base to get a top 5 pick. If cho and Higgins can't get the job done in making the most of the team and it's picks then we should hire someone else.

I would love to get jabari Parker. But so many ifs stand in front of that. And we can't control it. And if we tank and don't get one. This season will be a waste. But on that note I'm not anti tank or pro tank. I'm somewhere I'm the middle. But I get aggravated at guys like Michael Newton and super j who just post non stop " yo guys I'm
So glad we are finally tanking." #2014TANK #TANKcity #TANKAHOLICS ##############

I want our guys to suceed.

We've proven we can't find those guys though IMO. So, as you said, hire someone who can then. As the current roster stands though, they're going to be terrible for years unless they draft someone IMO. They're mediocre at the absolute best this year, while teams are tanking. When 28 teams start trying next year, instead of the 18-20 that are this year? They're going to be right back at the bottom.

As u said to land a superstar in the NBA u have to be lucky and draft one. If we don't draft one, then what... Tank some more. Nothing is guaranteed. Lottery screws us over.

Listen man. Nobody wants a star here more than me. We deserve one and need one. But I'm
Not willing to watch this team for the 10 years to become Milwaukee.

The spurs did draft Duncan but they also built their teams the right way and didn't tank forever like we have been doing. Hell some years we haven't tanked and were downright terrible. It starts with management and operating the team. Do u honestly trust jordan cho and Higgins to make the right draft choices for this team even in a stacked draft like this. I know I don't. Look at Indiana. They drafted Paul George 15 I believe. Somewhere in there. And they didn't tank to get all the talent they have. The spurs the same way. The make great observations on players and scout and have a plan.

So if I'm faced with this decision of choosing whether to let cho and Higgins tank and wait for our star or to choose them being competitive and being in the playoffs and maybe even winning. I choose the latter.

If I knew for sure without a doubt that we could get Parker and he would be a superstar and be our savior then yes of course I would do that. But we have so many obstacles on front of that.

Lottery screws us over, cho makes the wrong pick, we win too many games, and so on.

we have not been tanking forever. There's a difference between losing to get a player that you know will be a star, and being a poorly ran undermanned team

The reason to all out tank IMO. Land a Top 5 pick, as opposed to picking 9th or 10th where it gets murkier. Basically, what half of the teams in the league are trying to do. Tanking blows. But, with the way our FO has drafted, do you trust them to find that Paul George at 15, where chances are slim to none? Or in the Top 5, where it's a little more idiot proof, especially in the most loaded draft since 2003. Even then, sure, there was a Darko. But, there was also a LBJ, Wade, Melo, and Bosh.

For me, we COULD have a poor man's Indiana right now started with Kemba/MKG/Jefferson and cap space. But, we're missing a Paul George type to be a Top 10 guy in a couple of years. Personally, I think Wiggins is overrated. But he, Jabari (who I want), Embiid, Smart, Exum, or Randle could be that level guy, or at least an upgrade to anyone on the current roster. I seem like an all-out tank person, and usually am this season, but much of it stems from my complete lack of trust in this FO to draft that star that's needed in the late lottery to mid first round. I think they've shown they can't draft half the time. So, play it "safe", and land one of the guys everyone is pining over.

thank you for taking all the poo im thinking and just laying it out perfectly

First off. You don't know anyone will turn out to be a star. Although we were a poor team there's only a couple years that we haven't tanked. We were bad but we intended on getting a star player through the draft. And yet we didn't. That my friend is bad management and it didn't work out. But yet people like u will continue like idiots screaming for us to tank until we get our carmelo so u can be happy with our star player. U care about playing 2k and one individual player. U don't care about how this team is built. U just wanna be able to say u got your star. I want a winning team.

Sorry about jumping in, but when have they been good enough to not "tank"? There's been one season where they've won more than 35 games. And they were swept in the first round.

The franchise has had the worst talent in the league arguably for the past 10 or so years. It's not tanking, if you're just the damn worst team out there haha. They've drafted poorly for years, blown lottery picks, overpaid mediocre guys or traded for them, and been an absolute clusterfug. The Bobcats haven't had to try to lose...it just happens when they've fielded rosters that college teams could compete with all but a couple of seasons.

Well there aren't any players in the nba that try to lose. The gms put out a bad product to lose. We did this year after year after year. IMO that's tanking. Playing players that have no business being on the roster. That's my point we havent put the best possible product on the floor. We have always been tanking for that superstar. Always wishing upon a star that we will get him next year. It never happened. And what's to make me think this year will be any different.

I get the optimism of having a chance at getting a star. But it hasn't worked in for us in 10 years. Why would it this year. We will get screwed I'm the draft. Or we wil pick the one guy in the top 10 that busts.

This draft is unknown just like all the others. Banking on wiggins (who is soooo overrated) Parker smart embiid exum and randel to be superstars when they could be busts like our other picks.

We got screwed in our very first draft. We shoulda had dwight. We got okafor. Couple years ago we should have got Anthony Davis. We got mkg. We deserved those 2 franchise changers but we didn't. Sorry if I don't buy into this lottery system being our best bet.

But like I said before. I would love to have a top 5 pick but not by purposely making ourselves the laughing stock of the league once again.

The lottery didn't make us draft Felton, May, Morrison, Wright, Augustin, Hendo, or trade Tobias Harris (who has shown promise). Bad drafting, bad signings, etc. weren't supposed to lead to tanking. They were picks and signings that turned out bad, but were supposed to improve the team. None of those guys were drafted, traded for, or signed to make the team worse.

Only 2 of those guys are Top 5 picks, btw. Most are in that Paul George range non-tank guys say we could/should build in.

The seasons that led to that lone playoff team, the Bobcats weren't tanking. They were building a roster, which they found out had a low ceiling. Then? They blew it up, as they should have. The year after the playoff run, they were 10th in the East. Still competing/just outside the playoffs. The year after, the worst team in history (lockout year). Slight improvement the next year, but picked 2nd. I don't see how that is constant tanking. They've "tanked" (and just been terrible) for only two years, arguably since their inception. They just haven't had a clue on how to build a team, and hardly been picking in the Top 5 every year.

Chubs, the problem is you have to have a star. No way around it, you either get lucky in the draft or you're a big enough market to get one via FA or trade. You have to have a centerpiece to build around and that's a superstar. At least a damn good player, as a small market you can't even get one of those with out it being via the draft. Big Al isn't a superstar or a damn good player either. He's a borderline 50% shooting center, that's a tad undersized and can't play a lick of defense.

The Bobcats/Hornets broke a plan that Cho put into place "This is MJ were talking about afterall" To appease Hornets fans to show that they were trying, do you know what it really said to NBA fans that understand what it takes for a small market team to succeed?  When MJ signed Big Al, he was saying I still can't stop myself from making stupid decisions and ruining my club evening after all these years of doing so and giving Cho a contract to tank this team until it hit the draft lotto.

If this team doesn't have a top 5 pick because of some logo change, then signing Jefferson and changing the name will go down as the two the dumbest moves MJ has ever made as an NBA executive. Unfortunately, that's just how much that top 5 pick and hitting on it mean for this team's long term success.

Doesn't matter that they tried it under different management or blew the team up a few years ago to get bad quickly, doesn't matter that they've blown previous picks. None of that factors into the fact that for a small market NBA team to be successful they have to hit in the draft. This team has so little talent it needs to have those 3 picks this draft or it will literally be set back 5-6 seasons and you'll see a borderline 1st year Hornets team then crapola for 4-5 years.

Want a winning team??? Want a consistent winning team? Want to be successful? "and no getting the 8th seed in a crappy east conference and being swept isn't successful"  Want all of that as a small market team? Win in the draft. Win in the lotto.

Sucks, but that's just the way the NBA is set up now. Conspiracy theory or not, it has to happen or the team has to draft well. Otherwise you're team sucks.

Because of the post of one guy? Let's ignore the sane people and GMs who dropped him in the ratings, and his college performance not backing up his high school ranking. Or all the drama outside of basketball involving him.

I once predicted Lebron James would be good. There's one example of a can't-miss prospect.

You're missing the point.

People on here have overrated college prospects since the NBA board began. There's always been that sure-fire fix, but whether that player joins Charlotte's team or not, in nearly every case they've proven the hype to be undeserved to some extent. I don't support tanking. I don't think this team is tanking either, it's just not good.

thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. You cant have a good team without a star player. These days you need fugin 2 or 3 of them to even contend for a title. You need a star. More than 1 actuay.

when he was in high school people though he could be... then they found out he was a year older than they thought and that he wasnt poo in college. Shabazz moved down draft boards sooo much, if people thought he was cant miss like u say, why was he picked around pick 17... Jabari isnt a grade flunker and is the poo in college.

Dumbest thing I've heard all week.

Bazz was hyped up as a high school player. Once he stepped foot in college, everyone knew exactly what he was. Why'd you think he dropped in the draft?

Parker is on another level.

Dont compare Bazz to Parker.
