I think it has started...

So, I just got off work and had to share a cool story.

We were allowed to wear Panthers gear to work last night to acknowledge the game Sunday. Damn near everybody had on a Panthers shirt or hat. It was cool to see. Even more cool was what happened late in the night.

We were finishing up some things at the end of shift, and a few guys were trickling out to go home. As they passed by and acknowledged their departure, they'd stop and let the rest of us know. Twice I was told "Keep Pounding".

Anybody else get this from people? Is this going to be a "thing" for us like War Eagle/Roll TIde is for the Auburn/Bama crowds?

Also, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. Maybe because it's new and feels kinda "campy". Maybe it's because pro sports don't normally have those sorts of things that fans share on non-game days. I don't know. Was pretty cool though, because they said it so nonchalantly and it took me a minute to realize, "wait....they said that...and I responded?"

I think that the fact that it is based on something so inspirational keeps it from being "campy."

Yeah, I just couldn't think of a word to describe it. Meh.

I understand the phrase isn't exactly new. I remember the little keychain hammers that were given out back in the day with Sam Mills' and Mark Fields' numbers on them. It's just a matter of not hearing Panthers fans using it towards one another just in passing as a "greeting".

That's it! I'm going to start saying it to everyone I see repping the panthers. It can be our war eagle like you say. Keep pounding.

They've been saying that for like a decade. It goes back to Sam mills and mark fields.

Yes, but he's right that fans weren't using it as much as they are now. Social media has made a big difference.

I don't remember it ever being used in the magnitude of a roll tide.
